Clearly defined expectations if you follow them, make an effort, and try your best, you will succeed. He respects that. Hes fountain of sales knowledge and knows what hes doing. Be prepared for quizzes every class, lots of papers, and extensive role playing. Hes a tough grader, but you will learn so much and be so prepared for your career.

Eckert is an absolutely amazing professor. He cares a lot about his students. He puts in a lot of time and effort into this program and in return, expects time and effort from his students. He is tough and the workload is intense, but if you want to get an amazing sales education, he is the BEST to learn from. Put in the work and you will succeed.

Dr. Eckert is a very straight forward professor. He is understanding when you need extra time or are not getting the material, but he doesn't just hand you the answers. He makes you work for your grade but his class is really rewarding. He teaches real business strategies and focuses on real world situations. Take him! You wont be sorry!

Comment:
Self centered, vague, this class is geared for "serious sales" people, so forget it if you want to do anything else with your degree. Borderline rude, doesn't respect when class time ends, isn't afraid to hurt your feelings. Should have picked a different major- but graduation is in a month.

Eckert is a great guy. Personally, my favorite professor at WMU because of his AMAZING speaking abilities. He believes in working hard to earn a good grade so make sure you pay close attention. Tests a moderately tough, but if you read the chapters it's an easy A. Not to mention, he is hilarious.

He isn't clear about what he wants and gives you poor grades if you just don't "know". You can ask a question and he gives the most vague response. I'd rather take another engineering class than deal with him.

Dr Eckert seems to have a vast understanding of Sales. Unfortunately, he does not really know how to teach. Just throws a bunch of information at you and expects you to understand. He doesn't care about students, he's just in it for his international trips. He has never muttered a positive word about the class and can be very demoralizing.

This class is actually extremely easy if you go to class. Exams are straight from the powerpoint presentation, so attendance isn't mandatory, but exams are tough if you don't go to class and take notes on the slides. Assignments are easy A's if you follow directions EXACTLY. He is a little arrogant, but he knows what he's talking about.

A great professor! His exams are straight from the power point slides but don't let that fool you...they're pretty difficult. This was one of my favorite classes. If you're going to take marketing, take it with him! He's easy on the eyes too...

Easy class. Don't need to buy the book to get an A. He puts the powerpoints online and basically goes over them word for word so missing a class isn't a big deal.

What Dr. Eckert is best at is selling the class and program. I went into this being a marketer who wanted to differentiate myself from others by being part of this unique and exclusive major. In all reality, sales is NOT fun, and not as exciting and independent as he makes you think. Considering SBM as a major can be a very regretful decision.

One of the most challenging instructors and classes I have taken. I had 15 credits and I spent more time on this class then my other 4 combined. Well worth it however. Taught me some important skills that helped me kick ass in interviews. Had my pick of jobs! Lot better than an easy B.
