He had the assignments unlocked throughout the semester with only a few hard deadlines which allowed you to work at your own pace. This proved to be helpful to me at the end of the semester as I was able to finish the course early. He allows you to redo the homework until you get all of the answers right and receive a 4.0. I highly recommend him.

I should have just taken one of the classes on Coursera, I would have paid less and probably gotten the same, if not a better, experience. I had questions, emailed the professor, never heard back. Basically my experience with the course was read the book, do a little work, get no feedback, and then have to do really well on tests

Only reason I said it was a 3 in difficulty was because it was online. It was the first online class I have taken so it was a little more difficult to learn by myself. Overall, great professor, made it easier to learn with the notes he put in.

Really enjoyed his class! I took online, and the class was completely self paced with a couple hard deadlines throughout the semester. He provided a lot of great resources (Jim's guide, powerpoints) and I personally found his worksheets extremely helpful. Quizzes and worksheets were multiple attempts, very helpful.

Great professor! You can tell he really cares about the students and their well being at at school. He's really understanding with deadlines, but you have to be careful and discipline yourself. He also provides great resources for his classes. It's very easy to tell that he has a very comprehensive real world experience with the subject.

WHAT AN AMAZING PROFESSOR!! He uses his own blog site which has awesome lectures, and diagrams for you to understand content which corresponds with the text. He goes above and beyond to help you understand. I actually really enjoyed my macro econ class, and believe me if I didn't have to take it I wouldn't have!! If you see James Luke; take him

Took this as an online 8 week course. There are no weekly deadlines - just at the 1/2way point and at the end. This flexibility was very nice. Did not buy the textbook as was totally fine as lecture readings are posted on d2l. Always prompt at answering questions, hw not difficult. Final exam on campus worth 25% of grade, so watch out.

Mr. Luke is a great professor! The class is self-paced so you have to be self-motivated in order to do well. It is not too challenging, as long as you keep up on your work and read the lectures, you should do great!

Excellent professor. I struggled with Micro (different instructor) but this was great. Specifies which areas are important to read and which can be skimmedskipped. Each unit has a powerpoint that breaks down the unit making it clearer. Answers questions on the discussion board. Practice quizzes that are very close to the graded quizzes.

Does not help a student become a better learner. Just sit and listen and you will pass. A person could do well in the class and know very little.

Jim is easily one of the worst professors I've had at LCC. He has so many mistypes, you'd be shocked his is a college professor. Also, he will post multiple due dates for one project, and it's up to you to figure out which one is right. I found myself caring about this class less and less each week because of his lack of effort to the material.

You have 2 weekly quizzes each week as well as a midterm and final. Mid-term, final and weekly quizzes can all be taken online. Department final must be taken up at LCC. He responses quickly to emails and is very clear-cut on what is expected in the course. Make sure you read the chapters and have a clear understanding of the subjects discussed.

This was an 8 week course and there is 1 worksheet and 1 quiz for each section which is all open book open note since you are taking it at home. The only issue is the fact that the final is worth 125 points out of 500 total for the class and if you bomb it your grade will really drop. Also, the final is proctored on campus.

I'm so glad I took Econ with Professor Luke! The online class is easy to follow and laid out very well. It is self-paced so you can work on it around your own schedule. There was assigned reading from the book, but the info. on D2L & the EconProph site were more helpful. Questions can be posted on the board where Prof. Luke promptly replies.

Taking a class online requires a ton of reading which I didn't enjoy, but Luke has these guides for each section that makes it easier to bear. He's quick about responding to questions and he tries to get other students to help each other out on forums. Great Professor!

My SI tutor recommended him to me and I am so glad she did. His online course is set up different from most because of his own website but it helps a lot. As long as you read his lecture in his website and take advantage of his lenient worksheets+quizzes you'll do fine. I really wish I could have taken him in a lecture class!

Luke was a good professor with an easy class set up. 2 Two out of the 4 exams are take home, so if you struggle with test anxiety it is very helpful. Classes can be somewhat boring as only half the class showed up half the time. Overall good class, good teacher and would sign up for him again

If you HATE online courses, give Luke's a try. He's put a lot of time and effort into his course--the best I've ever taken. He's very flexible, but slow with returned grades. This course helped me to look at economics in a whole new way.

Excellent teacher. course material very helpful. Course Schedule is flexible-very helpful. Homework assignments need to be easier, you might have the right answer but enter it in a different format than is correct. Tests are taken at home and can be taken twice, which is helpful.Videos do an excellent job teaching material. Book is difficult.
