Comment:

Not a lot of points in the class so you can't lose many! Rock out the first exam its the easiest. He lets you have "cheat sheets" so it's hard to do bad on an exam, but make your sheet a good one and spend time on it. He's hilarious and very approachable! If you try, he notices.

Comment:

If you mess up on number of your data on the test, you will find that you get 10 to 20 points off, regardless of if you proved you understand the material. Nice guy but very upset with his grading method. I would not recommend this professor for this reason.

Uses Excel a lot which is helpful. Dr. Meyer is one of my favorite professors. Take a class with him if you can.

Comment:

Very disappointing. His teaching style and forms of assessment, left me feeling like I learned very little. His class notes are a bunch of misc. overhead slides, which do not match the textbook. He calls on students randomly to answer questions and if they are wrong he just continues, which is very confusing.

He doesn't really "teach" he goes around in rows and expects you to know the answer and if you're wrong he won't tell you. He keeps going until someone points it out. If you get it wrong, he makes fun of you. Worst professor I have ever had.

He is very sarcastic but makes sure that students understand the point. Always answers questions thoroughly and makes sure that you completely understand. Sometimes gives a take home exam so go to class! Even though he calls on students in class,which isn't ideal, it helps with the material being studied

During his class, he never thought us anything. All he did was make the students answer the questions to questions people had on the homework. He never taught us anything, Very difficult for me to learn, he expected us to do all the work. To make it worse the test were all online and didn't get partial credit. Not helpful at all.

Jim gives you homework everyday (not graded) and it contains fairly simple homework questions. All online. For his tests, he tells you the type of questions that are on there, but the questions are nothing like the homework ones. They are way more difficult than what you are practicing.

Quite possibly the worst educator I have ever met in my life. Extremely rude and insensitive to conflicts in students lives. Only tests count towards your grade. Avoid his sections of math 101 .

He is sarcastic and funny, makes the class interesting. Tests are long and sometimes pretty difficult but he is very helpful if you just ask questions.

He will not accommodate exam conflicts whatsoever. If you have a family emergency he will not care. So basically, if you take any other professors who are too lazy to set up an alternate you are screwed.

Avoid. Take with Adsit. Calls on everybody in the class at least 3-4 times to answer questions so if you don't like public speaking stay away. Also, if you miss one exam for ANY reason you get no retakes for it and are forced to accept a 0/75 as your score.

This was a hard class for me but the teacher was always willing to help with any questions I had. He is always willing to help with you put in the effort too. Not an easy class but if you put in the effort, it shouldn't be so bad to pass the class.

Definitely was not a fan of this guy. He goes wayyyy too fast and says "this should just be review for you guys" way too much. It probably is but not if you haven't had math in 3 years! Only uses test grades (no homework/quiz grades) so if you don't test well STAY AWAY!

I did not like him as a professor. I never felt like I learned anything in class after it was done. He also goes way to fast and I can't keep up. He also always says, "Oh this is just review for you, you've learned this before". This may be so, but that doesn't mean I remember every detail! Npt a fan at all.

I Would not reccomend him for this course. He wastes a LOT of time on a single problem, more concerned with teasing the class. I left that class and never felt like we covered anything. And we never had graded homework, so the average of 4 exams was our final grade. And the tests are HARD. Believe me. Exam 4 had a failing class average

GREAT professor! will go out of his way to help students who are having trouble. i hate math but he made it much easier and more bearable. he could make almost anyone understand the topics. doing reviews helps a lot on the tests.
