By far the best professor I have ever had. I knew next to nothing about lighting until I took his Cinematography class, and now I am confident in my ability to light for both film and photography. His class is worth putting in the extra effort. He will show you how to stretch your skills if you are willing to learn.

Jimmy is an awesome dude and actually cares about his "disciples". The class is seriously boring if youve taken higher level courses, but if you pay attention and maybe take a few notes, its completely easy. Just pay attention as best as you can and fight for the credit. Took attendance. No textbook. Like a white Cleveland Brown with better hair

Awesome guy. Makes an awful class fun to go to. 2 tests, midterm and final, and 4ish papers. He gives exam review and grades papers with +,-, check mark. Easyyyyy "A".

A really wonderful professor. Art and photography are a real passion of his, and he shares that passion with his students. Always willing to help students as long as they ask for it. Easy class, as long as you do the little work he gives. Truly a kind and caring teacher. Take his class if you have any interest in Media Arts.

He keeps the class entertaining without over-editorializing. I especially appreciated that, as too often in my experience professors seem to devalue their students' time. Information is delivered interestingly and concisely, projects are enjoyable and challenging without being overwhelming. Great teacher.

Seems to think it's funny to waste time rambling and talking very slowly. Unless you're in the studio, class time is pointless. He talks, knowingly, in monotone and then gets upset when people fall asleep in his class.
