Very very ordinary teacher, and do not have charisma to boost students in terms of a beginner class, very boring lecture and she is biased towards students she feels like good. if she feels like one particular person or couple of them are good, her attention get shifted right the way towards them in a way which is not healthy at all.

I knew nothing about programming before this class, so this was definitely a good beginner course. She was laid back, missed 4 or 5 class, just emailed her to let her know and I still received an A. I was late on 2 programming assignments and just explained what happened and gave me more time. Wants to make sure the students understand material.

Joan is very helpful if you approach her with questions. She wants you to learn, so she won't give you the answer, but she will help you get to it. If you are willing to work at it, it is not hard. Don't be lazy, you will do great and you will enjoy it.

W.O.R.S.T teacher ever ever!! if you ask her questions, she'll explain only the idea but not in detail, better stay home and study, you'll learn more. bias, not helpful, grades if she thinks you're good, otherwise how harder you try...you'll end up with bad grades...trust me!

Worst professor you could have. She does not know, nor understand the material. She reads directly off the power points that she finds on the book website. I had multiple basic questions about php and databases that she could not answer. I got a B in her class thanks to GOOGLE NOT HER! DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!

She has pulled me into her office, and told me to not take this class because she doesn't think I can handle it. She is the worst ****ing teacher alive. All you do is go to class and she talks for about 15 minutes and then she plays on her computer. All you do all class is work in groups on anything.
