Great teacher. He really knows his stuff. Reasonable homework and tests. Classes are at the very least not boring and are most often pretty interesting. He takes attendance which I think is how he keeps track of who to bump up.

Is not concerned about his students, rarely cares to help you one on one. Will often shove tutoring/grading/extra work onto his 2nd or 3rd year students. If you miss a single day of class he will refuse to tell you anything you missed. Schedules make up days of class on any random day he feels like (doesn't care if you have work or not). Hates pups

Awesome teacher, he explains things well, when he actually lectures. He likes to show video's from another CS college and personally I like it when he lectures better than watching the videos. He is willing to help and loves the Computer Science Field. Take him for as many computer science classes as you can!

I took this class for my May-term, and I am glad I did! Super easy A! You have a quiz on each of the 8 chapters, but he gives you 100 questions of which 60 are on the quiz. Had 3 papers, but as long as you meet the length requirement and do what he asks, you will get a 100%. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK. You never use it! Would definitely take again!

Iyengar is a great teacher if you pay attention and work hard. He's really helpful on the codes if you go in and talk to him. Pretty personable guy, and really cares about his students succeeding. Definitely worth taking.

Comment:

Tests aren't the easiest, and assignments can be difficult if you don't understand the material. Don't be afraid to see him during office hours or ask for help. Never leave anything blank on the written portions and do your best on the programming sections of the test, as he gives as much partial credit for attempts that he can.

I really enjoyed this class. It was the easiest class I have ever taken. Go to class, he normally plays movies. He's a really nice guy and is willing to help you if you need it. He takes attendance but you get points for it, so go. i got 100% in the class... he gives you the exact questions that are going to be on the test with the answers :D

Computers in a Global Society: Iyengar is a very nice guy and is willing to help! Never used the book. Attendance is mandatory and incorporated into your grade. 8 twests, 3 papers, one cumulative final. Memorize the answers he gives you for the tests, write the papers ahead of time and go to class and you'll get an A.

DO NOT BUY TEXTBOOK. He gives you a study guide with 100 questions and picks 40 for quizzes. The final is 80 mc and t/f for all previous quizzes. There are 3 papers but you will get all the points if you meet the page requirement and set up guidelines. Attendance is mandatory and 5% of your overall grade. EASY A!

Professor Iyengar is by far one of the worst professors I have ever taken at WSU. I am a student that works very hard and is very motivated, but his assignments are so unbelievably unrealistic and his test are IMPOSSIBLE. He doesn?t curve anything and is useless when it comes to trying to get help.

He grades based on how much he like you,and classroom participation. I knew all of the material from high school, so it was easy for me. But the way he would often tech is just reading off the powerpoints, that are on the server. The only time we would use the book in class would be review day, we would do the Quick Checks, out of the chapters

Good guy, but he isn't the greatest teacher ever. CS is a hard class to take from the beginning. Tests are hard, projects can be hard. No homework otherwise which is nice but you have to start projects early and then get help if needed. Had a TA there for us which really helped.

Bascar's class is Easy but hard at the same time. He seems to be trying to teach him self how to code during class. He grades really easy on tests and programs. We only had like 4 programs the whole semester. Also the final is extremlly easy because the questions are all straight from the other tests during the semester.
