She started off nice, then quickly turned. You get on her bad side WATCH OUT. She had marked a question wrong on an exam and I asked her about it and she basically told me I'm the student and she's the professor. Really? From that point on she wouldn't give me the time of day. REALLY screwed me in student teaching placement too.

She is one of the worst teachers I've ever had at CMU. She didn't seem bad at first, until the first exam. Her grading is completely off. Everything is essay so depending on if she likes you are not is how she grades. She constantly contradicts and repeats herself. The project is so confusing and she grades ridiculously hard. HATED HER!!

Joan is great at first but don't cross her. I have seen many bad situations come about if you get on her bad side. Tells the same stories over and over, funny at first but then it gets old. Is very two faced and doesn't stand by what she says. Great experience info but is very rude to students.

I love Joan! Great class...easy...but you learn soooo much to help you in the classroom. She has wonderful personal experiences to share and to learn from. She does not like people who do not try or who give her greif. She tries so hard to work around what works best for her students.

Unlike everyone else, Joan is not my favorite. I was very frustrated in her class and as an advisor, she was terrible! She told me to do one thing and 6 months later, after I'd done it, asked me why I did and told me it messed up my whole curriculum!
