Comment:

I took his class for International Business. I felt he regurgitated leftist propaganda. I didn't learn anything from him and I got the impression I had better not disagree with his political views or I wouldn't do well in his class. Lot of writing but I figured out what he wantet and I got an A. However, I thought he was a horrible professor.

He doesn't seem to respect opinions that are different from his, which is pretty absurd. His grading on papers is inconsistent cuz he has to grade so many of them all the time. The reading materials were great, but I honestly didn't learn anything new from the professor himself. Some people love his teaching style but I found it very unhelpful.

Betton is a different kind of professor. He talks a lot and always tries to be right, that being said he was my favorite and most challenging professor at UW-L. 408 is great class if you listen, read, and think for yourself. He says great writers write what they want regardless of the audience, I did just that and got an A (which is rare)

Though some may feel a little intimidated by his British accent and his passionate beliefs and code of ethics, Dr. John Betton provides essential insights of the complexities of conducting business and its corresponding responsibilities. Not only is he immensely accommodating, he truly cares for the success of his students!

Wow, he is really not that bad of a guy and he teaches about relevant information, he just needs to learn new ways to deal with students. He went off on our class many times for petty little things. Also the work load is ridiculous expect to spend literally hours and hours of work, I worked my butt off and I got a B.

He teaches us about how poor American business Ethics are, how our education systems are wrong, how our whole educational paradigm is wrong, and how climate change is going to consume us whole. There are some important issues in his material which should not be ignored but if you don't agree with or say what he wants to hear, you will probably fail

He is a wonderful professor. He really cares about you and wants you to learn real world things. He uses fun paperbacks and readings instead of paperbacks. A lot of reading but it is an easy A since everything you write about is just your opinion...he just wants to know that you are keeping up. Best prof I have ever had.

teaches you things you would absolutely, necessarily needed on the real world. and thats a big deal. very interetsing..but if u'r a grade- or textbook-oriented person, i woudlnt recommend him. hes also not for you if you dont wanna bother reaching out to others' 'bubbles'

As a 2001 International Business graduate, this was my favorite professor. Yes, he was hard - but I would pay again to take more of his classes. He opened my mind and inspired me to think and write differently than I ever had. If you want to get something out of your education, take his classes! The UW system needs more professors like him.

As a 1990 graduate, Betton is one of only 2 professors that stand out (in a good way) from my college years. Pay attention and open your mind; his teachings are more important than you may realize at this stage of your life. Work hard and keep trying. If your arguments are good (and interesting), he will listen.

This class was intersting at the beginning until he starts grading things. The way he grades and picks apart papers has to rhyme or reason. You have to write his way or no way. The class was interesting but sometimes hard to follow because of his accent. Sometimes hard to stay interested.

This man is an awful professor. I encourage you all to not take this man if you are not a staunch representative of the Green Party. If he doesn't agree with you, you are done. I don't think there was one paper or project I haven't had to redo...he thinks america is the reason the world is****ty, he grades on whether or not he likes you, unless your opinion is the same as his, you can forget about ever being right, and good luck figuring out your grade...HE SUCKS!!
