Horrible teaching style, nice person though. You won't learn anything remotely useful in this class. Powers presents the material in a confusing manner, limited resources to prepare with. Just awful. Also everyone just copies assignments so grading is bimodal

She gives out tons of bonus questions on her midterm and final, and on top of that, she gives extra credit MATLAB assignments which can be worth up to 30%. For icing on the cake, she gives out some exam questions to the exam date. All in all, she is more than fair, which makes the class a joke.

(continued from last comment)see her during office hour. Her midterm went horrible, was like reading a textbook. She complicates everything instead of making it easier for students to understand. Expects us to study our asses of just for her course. She is a good person though, when you get to meet her in person.

Comment:
She over-complicates the topic she is talking about by mixing up big words in between. Even in her notes for MATLAB assignments. For instance, she babbles on for two, three lines just to describe the sentence "save the file you just made into you computer". Not only that she talks this way as well. The good thing is that she is very helpful when you

Comment:
The course material is pretty easy, and most of it is stuff you probably learned in high school. Unfortunately, the prof makes even the simplest things into something complicated. She uses different, more complicated equatiosn than the textbook, and her method usually has way more steps than necessary. Use the book and do the problem sets.

lets class out late everyday, doesn't actually teach you how to do the problems which make up 100% of your grade, just reads table values and explains how lab instruments function and things you should have learned in high school. She should be a prescription insomnia medication.

Very nice person, but lectures are always overcomplicated for nothing. If you do the problems sets (and not the night before the midterm and the final) you'll be in good standings. Gives bonus marks (just for filling out the answer sheet) and the questions are very fair. Don't sweat over the lectures component of this course...beware the labs!

She's genuinely nice. She gives fair questions with tons of bonus marks! The only thing though is that she doesn't explain very well.

If you ever take this class, dont even bother with the lectures! As long as you know the materil and can do the problem sets then you are fine for the exams. The labs on the other hand just plain suck.

The course material in general is EASY but she transforms it into CHAOS. If you removed the lectures and just went for the labs, you'll be just fine!
