She was a super hard professor, and I really did not like her at first. As time went on, I realized that she is a fantastic teacher, and she is MORE than willing to help if you make the effort in her class. Turned out to be my favourite professor so far in all my university experience...

Assignments are nothing like exams, material done in class was irrelevant to tests. You will need to teach yourself and do every exercise in the textbook - plus memorize every exercize in the textbook to get a passable mark. Half of my class withdraw after first midterm, highest mark on first midterm was 82% & she refused to higher people's marks

Glad she retired, I got an A+ in 1110, A+ in BUQU 1130 and and A in ACCT 3310. This is the only class i did bad in and got a C+. She doesnt give enough time to even complete the exam; Realistically 80% of the people are still writing when the time runs out. The lectures and teaching style are completely not resourceful to your growth as a student.

Wasted my time and my money. She expects you to know everything about accounting. She really goes in depth which throws everyone off. If you don't have any idea about accounting please DO NOT take her!!!!!!

She want students to fail. I managed to do ok because i worked for it. She will not teach because because she expects you to know everything. Don't take it if you are not good at finding solutions to tricky exam questions.

I had Joan for 1110 and 1210. She is a great teacher. She is difficult, but you leave her class knowing the material. She forces you to do the work to get the grade. If you do the exercises in the book before exams you should be good. Her questions are not like the text questions but the way to approach them are the same. Great Teacher!

I would not recommend joan as a teacher. her lectures are very confusing and she makes numerous attempts at being funny in a "nerdy" way. She criticizes your work in front of the class which can be embarrassing, but overall she is a decent teacher. WileyPlus is hell.

Fair teacher. Tax is a tough course and she brings experience. reads from the slides, but do the homework, practice exams and read the book and she drops hints. Work hard to get a good grade.

I had Joan for ACCT II and it was a hard class. But she was very helpful with homework and she went over almost every single question. The class was failing but she cared and she gave us extra questions to do. I passed with a C+ but I think it's one of those courses where you really get what you put in.

One of the worst prof's I've ever had. Extremely hard & just reads the slides to you instead of teaching. She has a negative outlook on life & is always bad mouthing the government & politicians. Midterm was so much harder than the assigned questions. The avg was 41%. The highest on the M/C was 11/25 b/c there was no time to do that part of exam.

Comment:

Auditing is difficult no matter what. This is unlike other accounting classes, due to the high level of theory content. The important thing to understand about Joan, is that she has very high expectations of her students. She admits that she marks similar professional exmas. FOCUS on the power point slides for studying purposes and you'll be fine.
