He teaches at Vanderbilt now. He is really passionate about the subject, yet he is rather monotone when he lectures. The class was super fascinating and it was really eye-opening. Would recommend. He required weekly 1000 word blogposts but it really wasn't that bad and they were graded quite easily. The reading is interesting but there is a lot.

Comment:
Globalization and Social Change was a life changing course for me. Bandy holds individuals responsible for their own educations - the way it should be. I highly recommend this course if you are an engaged global citizen. Effective use of case studies and peer discussion groups. Awesome.

Definitely agree with the last comment. He seems like a cool guy but he really sucked for Intro. Totally boring, take an upper level class or Anth 101 instead. His daughter is super cute though.

I guess he would be a great teacher for those who learn best from boring lectures only. I felt he was very intelligent man who seemed to smart to be teaching a 101 course. Very nice man. Fair grader. I would rather take an upper level class from him, that might be more on his intelligence level. Lectures are not engaging AT ALL.
