Dr. Bonomo is so incredibly inspirational! His assignment prompts can be a little vague, but he does push you to become a better writer. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed his class, and just him as a person.

Dr. B is honestly the best professor I have had at NIU. He will call you out if you come to class unprepared (did it to me!), but he sincerely has his students' best interest in mind. He pushes you to do your best, and you will learn so much from him. Discussions are amazing, insightful, and make class fly by. TAKE HIM AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE!

Every class I have taken with Dr.B has been 100% amazing. He expects a lot from his students' essays but it's just more encouragement to do well. He is terrible with written feedback, talk to him directly if you need help (he is always available to look over drafts). Class discussion is great, you won't want to skip class.

At first, I thought Dr. B was very full of himself. But as long as you participate, even a couple times a week, he warms up to you. The man is truly brilliant and cares about literature. Reading load is a little heavy, reaction essays are expected twice a week. I'd take him again because he made the readings and their subject matters interesting.

Dr. B is a really good professor .He makes you think outside the box and make you think critically about the essays and how to construct your own but he grades kind of hard tho. He grades subjectively. I haven't seen a A paper this semester. *shrugs*

Great professor! Favorite class this semester. He is very kind and it's nice to finally have a teacher who loves his job and cares about the students! He is very approachable for asking questions or getting extra help if necessary. Very open-minded kind of guy. He doesn't ask for much more than a good discussion and consistent participation!

I have a time conflict with a required class and one of his classes for next semester and I'm thoroughly depressed that I can't take another one of his classes. I am in love with Bonomo! He is the best professor I've ever had. After taking his class, I have about 8 new favorite books (I loved every book we read). He's brilliant and his class presents a healthy challenge. Plus, I need to mention that this guy is seriously punk rock, and a seriously dreamy hunk! He's cool as hell and HIGHLY recommended.

I've taken both his intro and advanced creative nonfiction classes, and I LOVED it. He's a great teacher and always challenges you. As long as you put in the effort and work (and honestly try), there's no reason you can't get an A.

While I don't deny that he loves teachin, and is very excited about it, he is very unhelpful. I asked at the beginning of the year for help, since I was getting behind, and was told that, unless I had a disability, there was nothing he could do, and I just needed to "suck it up". Unless he's the last option, skip his class.

Prof. Bonomo is amazing! I'd say his best quality is his way of facilitating discussions that get the whole class talking-never is there a moment where he has to fish for answers or force participatation. Can be a tough grader, but know the material and participate and you'll be fine. Plus, he's not bad to look at-like an older Adam Brody!
