Had him for abstract algebra. He knows what he's talking about, but he doesn't know how to present it to the students in a way that they will understand it. Very very unorganized. He constantly screws up when doing problems on the board then laugh about it. He also doesn't finish a lot of the examples he starts.

For abstract algebra. He assumes that you know and remember everything ever taught in a math class. Kind of insults everyone for not knowing information. First day of class he called everyone 8th graders. If you get one part of a proof wrong the whole thing is wrong. Doesn't give partial credit at all.

Music and Lives of the Beatles class. It was fabulous! Learned a ton and it was fascinating. Joe knows his stuff and is very helpful in replying to emails and just anything you need in general in regards to the class. I wish I could take it again!!

Very smart professor who is interested in what he is teaching. Probably shouldn't teach Calc 1 though. He is so smart that he goes through problems fast without explaining what he is doing, and leaves almost everyone confused. Probably a better professor for higher level classes

His test are almost impossible unless you are a genius like him. He cannot do easy algebra very well, but does really hard algebra that no one can understand very well. He should only teach upper division math classes and not Calc 1. He also loves to have his students explain things on exams. The average scores on exams were around 50 of 100

He's probably one of my least favorite teachers. He has a 'liberal education' portion of the class that usually takes the first 15 minutes of class with nearly no bearing on what is being taught in class at the time. He interrupts you mid-sentence when you ask questions. I'm sure he knows what he's talking about but it's not a nurturing environment
