Took his online class and the lectures were interesting. You have to write quite a few papers but I made an A on all of them and I'm not even a soc major. Gives extra credit and responds quickly to emails. TA is helpful too!

This class was a waste of money. Its not even worth going to class, he constantly goes off subject, just stay at home and read the book. 70% of the test comes from the book, the rest is comprehensive

I loved THIS CLASS!! WELL I TOOK HIM ONLINE BUT IT WAS SUPER EASY!! I GOT AN A! AND DIDNT STRESS OUT ABOUT THIS CLASS AT ALL!! LOVED IT! now am actually thinkning about majoring in Sociology :)

I took this class online with a friend, and really enjoyed the subject matter. My only complaints are that Dr. K was slow to respond to e-mails, and never posted the full assignments on time. Like another poster has already stated, the class was very disorganized at times. Despite this however, I do recommend it.

Comment:

Pop music & Society was an interesting course. Dr. K is a cool professor. One thing I didn't like about the online course was the timeliness of the grades. We would wait a couple of weeks to get our grades and the class was disorganized at times. Other than that, it was a great course. I would definately recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Kotarba aka Dr. K is the MOST AWESOME PRIVILEGED professor you could ever have! He has highly engaging conversations & as long as you come to class, participate, and do the work, that's all he wants, is your effort and participation, to know your trying! His classes are awesome! & I would definitely take him again if i had the chance! TAKE HIM!

Took Sociology of Health and found it interesting. One of the tests is over the first half of the course and the second exam was over the class presentations and articles. There was a presentation then a paper over the presentation. Easy A and he is a nice guy.

Great class. Topics were relevant and course subject (popular music) was extremely interesting. The workload was slightly more than average (appx 10 papers, some 10-15 pages long). but again, the topics were interesting. beware of grading timeliness, though. 3-4 week waits for grades were not uncommon. this could make or break a borderline student.

Online class, extremely writing intensive. I think I wrote about 12 papers this semester. One was 21 pages long. but pretty easy. make sure you can keep deadlines. dr.k is great thought. very likeable man. if u like pop culture, music and soc, your set in this class. Make sure you can write.
