Comment:
I used to like Vlah, but he changed his class setup this semester. I was so excited for Social Psych, but by the end, I was drained and uninspired. Vlah also made mistakes grading every test and some of the quizzes, so make sure you check the math. He sometimes insults millennials and generalizes our lifestyles, which can be discouraging.

He's an awesome professor! Very philosophical. He speaks more from opinion but if you are open minded, attentive, and respectful, you will most likely love him and he will be so kind to you in return. Highly recommend taking one of his classes before graduating, no matter what major you are!

Joe is a very nice professor, however the content in his classes (taken 3) do not reference any empirically-based science, we evaluate no studies, don't write any papers, and are graded on a highly subjective standard (most essay response questions, though there are usually a few m/c and short answer). I do not enjoy his classes, they are boring

Joe is awesome! He provides great lectures that not only relate to the material but that are quite interesting. His grading criteria relatively strait forward. He will always go out of his way when a student needs assistance. Reading is definite, however he chooses great text that go along with his material and his test. Wish I could take him again

Definitely read the chapters, the summaries at the end of the chapters and do the practice questions! Doing that will guarantee a pass. Very interesting course. Very funny. Get involved in class! You'll learn more during the conversations

If you like intelligent, well-spoken, well-read teachers, Joe is your guy. If you are lazy, entitled, or arrogant, Joe is not for you. Give this man the respect he deserves and he will return it. If you are a psychology major, don't leave Flagler without taking as many classes from Joe as possible. If you do the work, you get the grade you deserve.

Really great professor but not for the lazy or disinterested student. If you are serious about psychology, and want to learn a lot, he is the best.

This was a really hard class but I learned a lot. He expects you to read the book and understand the material. He's really interesting but doesn't cover all of it so you have to actually work. If you're looking for an easy A don't take him but if you want to learn he's amazing.

Definitely my favorite professor! He is well-spoken, funny, and keeps you interested in the class with his own enthusiasm. He relates a lot of what he teaches to student life and studying, which is helpful if you listen. His tests aren't hard if you read the book, and he'll help you out any way he can. I wish all my professors were like him!

Most amazing class I've ever had, I think everyone should take this class, non-psych majors included. Joe is such an amazing professor, great lectures. Tests are not too hard, if you really study! Read all materials, which isn't hard b/c they're so interesting! Class "teaches nothing new," but makes sense of the world & what we do. Take Vlah!!!

The worst teacher I've ever had in college. Too much talking politics and not enough teaching of students. We had the same class over and over. If he took more time to teach what he was supposed to, there would have been more learning instead of listening.

I loved Vlah, he's a great teacher and very passionate about the subject. He was extremely entertaining and very helpful. I enjoyed going to his class every week. Tip: read the chapters before class, and listen to his lectures instead of taking notes. You'll take more away from the class that way, plus he loves student participation. Have fun!

I had him for two of my classes this year and I thought he was a fair and funny teacher. It isn't hard to pass his class with a good grade if you do the work and study for the tests. He's helpful and friendly--talked too much repeatedly about gay/leb topic in class.

If you are looking for an easy A this is not the teacher to take, but if you want to learn and have your mind stretched then he might just do it. His tests are sort of hard and he doesn't cover much in class so make sure to read the book.
