Great way to take diff eq. He is great and explains topics well. Tests are fair and reflect quizzes. He gives good feedback and is happy to help. Excellent class, really recommend.

Comment:

Professor Berman is a fantastic professor. I took his online Calc II course and you have to be responsible and dedicated to studying on your own to succeed in the course. Professor Berman gives you ALL the tools required to pass his class and the tests mimic the video problems. Calc II isn't easy, don't blame the professor if you suck at math.

Took diff. eq online and had a fantastic experience. Lecture videos were super helpful and clear. Resources like practice problems and solution videos were abundant. No surprises on the tests, just like lecture and practice questions, plus guides so you know exactly what to study. Prof. replied very fast to messages. Best structured class I've had.

In this online class, Joel has very easy-to-understand lectures. There are about 3 homework assignments due each week but they take 10 minutes tops. The quizzes and tests aren't too hard if you learn the material in the lectures and homework. Great set-up in my opinion and he always replies back right away when you email or text.

Fail Trig first time taking it. Joel made it much easier to understand. Willing to help but you must apply yourself. Im going to take him again for Calc 2. Very nice.

Professor Berman is extremely particular. Quizzes had to be submitted as ONE PDF file or points were deducted, and he even requested to assure pages were in the correct order to refrain from point deduction.

I took this class online and it wasn't too difficult as long as you keep up with the homework, which there were multiple homework assignments due each week and take your tests you should be fine. My biggest problem was procrastination and I fell behind and it was hard to catch up. There is one extra credit. All in all, this class wasn't bad.

Absolutely fantastic! Disregard the other reviews rating Professor Berman on this website. The people who are leaving Berman bad reviews are the people who don't try in his class and don't put forward effort. If you put in the work and you try in his class Professor Berman goes out of his way to help you understand what you have difficulty with.

Took this online course. It was 5 credits, but no Major requires a 5 credit Calculus 2 class. I should have never taken this course. Way too much work and as I mentioned and credit more than necessary. For all of you looking to take an online Cal course through Florida Virtual, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. His tests were ridiculously difficult.

Professor Berman was an okay professor. If you like the "flipped" classroom style, definitely take him, But if not avoid this class. The test are hard and not multiple choice, at all. If you put in the work you'll get a good grade. If you don't put in the work, YOU WILL FAIL.

Joel Berman is the worst teacher I have ever had. His test are EXTREMLY hard. He does not help you with grading either. 70% of your grade comes from tests. 20% from quizes. And the last 10% is from participation, which the system he has is flawed. Its nearly impossible to get a perfect score on participation. AVOID THIS TEACHER. THANK ME LATTER.

This class was the worst academic experience of my life. His final exam was 18 pages and about 25 really long problems. There is no way you could finish it in the three hours allotted. He gave me a 69.9 because I couldn't finish the last 1 1/2 pgs. I still got everything else correct! He gave me a 79.9 for a final grade and won't round up!

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! Worst professor at Valencia. Do not take this guy what ever you do. Test are the hardest problems he can possible find. He does not teach at all he makes you watch lectures online. Taking an online class would have been easier since you have to teach yourself anyway. He makes you feel really dumb if you ask questions.

I just finished Prof Bermans calc2 class. All of the posts below about MAC2312 online are spot on. This was a ridiculously hard class. His exams are about 10 pages and his final was 17 pages! You only get three hours to complete about 23 problems. I had a calc1 take home exam from Prof Niss that was easier than any of his exams! You've been warned!

Run away as fast as you can! This is the Professor that will keep you up at night second thinking your major choices. Take this class in person where you can ask questions and get explanations. Berman teaches you nothing! He should go into industry and quit what he thinks is teaching. Calculus 2 is a really hard class, don't make it even harder.

Took this class online but wasn't disappointed. Tests are taken by hand on campus, which I liked. We get a PDF of our original test answer sheet back, marked with feedback. Test reviews were excellent and were why I got a perfect score on tests. Homework dates are clear and he gives extra credit for turning it in on time. I never opened the book.

The majority of this class is watching video lessons on YouTube and teaching yourself. Attendance is mandatory and counts for 15% of your grade, yet the work you do in class doesn't count. He does not teach during class time and will only explain something if you ask him a question. If I had known I'd teach myself, I would've taken it online.

His lectures are online which are very confusing an don't provide a'lot of help. This class size is huge with about 75 students and only reviews a few problems. Due to the online notes it is difficult to learn the concept cause you cant ask questions at that second. His grading is very difficult and the test are the hardest i've taken.

Only take this class if you need a quick review, if you got an A in calc1, or you have no other choice. Prof Berman will help you if you ask for it. He wants to make this class a rewarding experience. You can really tell that he put a lot of thought in to the development of this course. He said he plans to add additional videos for future course.

Avoid Prof Berman for calculus 2. I took this class as a refresher and I can't believe how hard he's made this class. He only gives you two weeks to learn all the integration techniques and then wastes two weeks covering DE's and other junk that isn't even necessary for a calculus two class! This class is hard for the sake of being hard. avoid.....
