Comment:
He is very helpful and kind, but can be absent-minded and tends to jump around subjects during lecture. He is great if you keep him on track and remind him of whatever you need- just don't expect him to remember on his own. His classes are always fun and he has a lot of knowledge and passion for his field.

Dr. Koster is a really helpful, very interesting professor. Loves out of the box questions and independent thinkers. As a really structured learner, my only difficulty with his style is that he really jumps around and doesn't teach from the book. He actually really dislikes publishers so you probably won't use a book in any of his classes.

He is a GREAT professor for CORE100. You spend a lot of time discussing things, and he generally wants to see that you are able to think about issues that are raised in class. He prefers to keep everything electronic, so you don't need to take notes or keep a notebook for this class... just bring a computer! Best CORE professor there is.

Very laid back but is very passionate about the subject. Doesn't really follow a strict schedule and isn't always very clear about assignments, but if you bug him and talk to him, he can be very helpful with anything. He's goofy and has a silly sense of humor - class with him is always interesting and funny. And learn to love Linux!

Very rarely uses the book. Beware his tests where you have to know definitions! But he's a great teacher and really wants the students to get involved. Is willing to help you individually, and that can be very helpful!

Not easy, but shouldn't be. If you want easy, switch majors. I wish that the CSC classes were harder, actually, to keep weeding out the people who will hurt Meredith's reputation after they graduate.
