Joel is a great teacher and is always willing to help. Web design is not easy but any means, but Joel helps simplify it. Lectures are clear. Plus he's funny and entertaining.

Comment:

I would only take this class if it was required or wanted an access to those SUPER nice imacs. Not much design is taught. The main lecture topic is learning how to use DW. Doesn't teach at all how to code HTML/CSS. Better off self teaching than taking his class. He's grading standards are too vague, even for an art class. Claims to never give 'A's.

I took his webdesign class and was confused from day 1. I'm not the only one, a lot of other students were confused as well. Hes too sarcastic, and does passive aggressive things like ignore you when you raise your hand. He's always pulling an allnighter for some reason and is always tired. The whole class is based on stumbling through dream weaver

Joel would be a great drinking buddy, but he has many flaws as a teacher. He tells you at the start that you're not going to get an A, seems allergic to helping you unless you're a girl or unless you already know what you're doing, constantly is springing new requirements on the class. He knows web design well, but the class overall was unpleasant.

Web design is not easy and Joel doesn't act like it is, but he is a great professor! He makes class fun and tells quirky stories, you feel like you know his son! Anyways, he makes working with computers fun and rewarding. A worthwhile class, for sure.

Joel is an awesome teacher the first day of class he told us dont call him professor or anything like that just joel would be fine and i knew then hed be awesome. Hes hilarious and really laid back. Hes always helpful and an all around great guy

Joel wastes class time, doesn't explain things very well, and always promises to help later. I didn't have problems following his lectures, but most of the class did, and then it fell to those of us that understood to teach everyone else. And he's always 'sick' or 'hasn't gotten enough sleep'.
