Dr.Falk is an average, fair professor. He will help you if you need it but don't expect his help to solve or answer your problem. I had him for a lab class and the there were 13 labs which totaled 20% of my grade. Don't miss a single of the six pop quizzes though because they alone are worth 20% of the grade.

his lectures tend to be repetitive and he wastes a lot of lab time. you must piece assignment requirements together from lecture notes, a due dates document, and the lab manual online. Prelabs and labs take a lot of time and count for very little of your grade. No attendance req listed, but pop quizzes and only exam are a huge part of the grade.

I disagree with anyone who's simply deemed him a bad teacher. The character that is Falk is much more dynamic. First, don't take 1201 unless you've taken 0257--you'll have to spend a lot of etra time. Falk devotes a lot of time in the lab to helping you personally: he may or may not be any help, but you'll learn some. GRADES: 1/26 got A's, 5/26 A-.

Tests didn't correspond to hw. No organization in lectures. Rambles on showing projector slides right out of book. Explains this as "teaching conceptually." Unexplicable 5 min pauses. A 3rd of the class got below a C or bailed out. With only seniors and freshman why do u need to weed students out?
