Dr. Freund is an excellent teacher who takes a sincere interest in his students. If you are willing to put in the effort you will learn how to be successful in his class as well as in other courses and life in general. However he will not give you the ¨easy A¨so if you want that, then find someone else as a professor.

Very intelligent, but not cut out for teaching. Has difficulty relating material to students. Some in my class were taking it for the third time, most for the second, which should tell you something. I had him years ago, but recent comments on this site suggest his communication skills haven't improved.

Very smart and relatively nice guy, but has a hard time teaching. Not very helpful when it comes to explaining difficult info. Into to stat for psych is ridiculously hard with him. I wish I had taken it with someone else. Don't take it if you don't have to!!!

is very learned and knows his stuff. but doesnt translate well in to the teaching aspect. only reason i was ok was cause of ap stat that did not count for the psyc deot as it was in the math dept. Tends to not ask another student if a student doesnt know the answer do not be late as there are bell ringer type things in the beginning of class.

Worst professor I've ever had in my entire academic career. 85% is an A. He doesn't lecture he stands in front of the class and asks questions about material that has never been explained to students. If you are a single word off from his definition on the exam he will mark it as incorrect. Pick anyone else!

Dr. Freund is very intelligent and knows his stuff. He is concerned with you as a person and strives not only to help you learn HIS material, but how to learn and succeed in college in general. That being said, growth is challenging. He will ask the hard questions and he won't give you anything if you are capable of looking for yourself first.

Out of all of the professors I've taken in my four years of college, he takes the cake with being the absolute worst professor. He teaches concepts based on exceptions and not the rule. The material shouldn't be this difficult. Makes me feel unintelligent when I ask him questions about drill homework. STAY FAR AWAY.

Gosh, I hated this class. This was the only C I've ever had. The material itself isn't difficult, but the tests are hard and the way he teaches makes the tests even harder. You learn more in drill than in lecture. Read the book, it will make the class a little bit easier.

Not very helpful unless you go to office hours. Talks the whole class period and will call on you for feedback. Grade based mainly on attendance and gets snappy with you when you don't show up more than twice.

Absolutely horrible. I ended up dropping the class right after the second exam. Exams are 6 pages long and the first page is entirely vocab. Not enough time to complete the entire exam so you can stand after but you're out of luck if you have a class right afterwards. Not helpful. Went to office hours and he was quite rude when i asked for help.

Coming from someone who has taken two stats courses, Dr. Fruend is a terrible stats teacher. Although I don't expect him to hold anyone's hand, one would at least expect him to actually explain the material he's teaching. In short, unless you've taken stats before, take this class with someone else.

Dr. Freund is eccentric, but tons of fun. He is very interesting as a person and tries to bring out the uniqueness in his students, though has trouble with names. He makes class easy and fun. I really learned a lot from this class

Horrible teacher that makes everything way too difficult. If you want research methods, take Chapman, Stats, take Levine. Freund can't even do basic arithmetic let alone teach stats. Too stubborn and old to be teaching, purposely embarrasses people and makes you look stupid. Tests are harder than you could imagine and doesn't teach at all.

I took Research Methods with Freund twice and failed both. He is impossible to follow and doesn't answer questions, just asked them back to you. I was in his office every day almost and it got me nowhere. I had a really tough semester with two family deaths and had to miss class and he didn't work with me at all to at least try and keep my grade

People are being brutal! Freund's class is pretty tough, but it's not impossible. 85 is an A, 75 is a B, etc. If you go to literally every class and every drill, READ AND OUTLINE THE BOOK prior to class, and study vocabulary, then you'll be fine. Don't be afraid to question him.. He wants to help you.

ATTENTION: IF YOU DON'T ALREADY HAVE A PHD IN PSYCHOLOGY THEN DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. I have been a straight A student my whole life. Dr. Freund is seriously the hardest teacher I've ever had. He is EXTREMELY unhelpful. When you go ask him questions, he answers them with questions. He's rude and he purposely tries to embarrass you. AWFUL CLASS!!

I took this guy in the late 90's for Research Methods and had a miserable time. Got reminiscent and found this site. Looks like nothing much has changed. Arrogant, aloof, incomprehensible... these traits don't even begin to describe his classroom persona. Instead of learning I found myself constantly in a game of "matching wits with the professor."

Dr. Freund is an excellent professor. People dislike him because he doesn't give out A's and B's for free like every other psych professor. If you pass his class, you will have learned a new skillset. If you're lazy or mediocre, don't take his class. He'll fail you if you don't put forth effort.

He was late grading assignments needed to correct mistakes made for later assignment. Did not offer good help outside of class. He would only give a packet on ways to study and tell you to read the book. Unclear on what would be needed to be studied prior to exam day.

Okay, here's the deal. Freund is not a bad teacher; he is just a hard teacher. But, if you go to class every day, take notes, read the textbook, and study outside of class, the class isn't hard, just challenging. You LEARN and you appreciate what you learned in his classes. Be patient, challenge yourself, and give him a chance!
