Loved his business of media class - there's no textbook and the only readings are through new articles he finds online. All test material is from the in-class lectures, and he repeats important things multiple times. Definitely taking again and would recommend, interesting class project where you follow the box office for a new movie

1-2 quizzes every week but they are usually only about 5 questions and count for 1% of your grade each. Tests are tough because he doesn't write much on the board so you're never sure if you got all of the most important parts from the lecture. The class is very interesting if you are a film major. I look forward to more classes with Timmer.

His lectures are clear and easy to understand. You will know EXACTLY what is on the test if you pay attention. There are three papers and two tests, and the rest are quizzes. If you study, and pay attention in class it is enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed his class.

I took this class during the Maymester and it was not too difficult. Pretty much every day there is either a quiz or writing assignment so attendance is important. The quizzes are fairly easy as long as you read the article ahead of time and pay attention to specific important details. The Tests were very easy, they were based only on powerpoints.

Class is easy to pass but hard to make an A. His tests are easy if you study the notes taken in class. Papers are not to bad. Quizzes are annoying and alot of 4/5 can hurt your grade.

Easy quizzes each week, just read the book and they're not hard. Tests are also easy if you take good notes in class and pay attention to the main ideas. However, Dr. Timmer is of no help outside class. His grading on the paper seems arbitrary, and he won't help you understand your grades or performance on tests and the paper. Can be standoffish.

I really enjoyed Tiimmer. He gives quizzes every week but if you just do the reading you will get an A. The quizzes really helped me on the test. Just take good notes and you will do good in the class.

Interesting class, but Dr. Timmer is not helpful outside of class at all. I got a low grade on a paper and tried talking to him about it. He rushed through and didn't really clarify anything at all. I've been to office hours other times and he told me he had something come up and would reschedule. He never did. Good in class, lazy outside of class.

The class itself is not very hard &it can be pretty interesting. Hes not too dry but not exactly exciting either. The worst part about him is that he doesnt allow for any makeup work regardless of your excuse. He is not willing to work with you outside of class to compromise. It seems as if hes too lazy to do anything outside his alloted class time

I inititally didn't like Timmer when I took him freshman year, but I took his Business Law class my junior year and absolutely loved it. He is a fantastic discussion leader and quite helpful and fair. He has high standards for papers and tests, but gives you opportunities to excell. One of the best for Entertainment Law classes at TCU.

Dr. Timmer is extremely intelligent and is a great professor. His lower level lecture courses are pretty dry and boring, but his upper level classes, which are much more discussion based, are quite enjoyable and some of the best classes I've taken. His tests aren't exactly easy, but he is very clear and direct on what he wants. A good professor.

Timmer is kind of dry, you can tell he wished he lived in LA & not DFW. His class is simple- just read the magazine articles before class (I suggest highlighting main points to look over before the daily quizzes). He's obsessed with TV so you get to talk about tv shows all class long- we even had a donut party 4 the start of the fall season

His tests can be killer, but once you get the hang of his grading style, it gets a lot better. So does his personality, when you get him out of weed-out classes.

He is the best. I would take as many classes as I could with him. I loved his sarcasm. I learned a lot and it was not hard. If you go to class and read what he says you can get a good grade. He is also very helfull, if you don't get something he will definitely explain you and be always there for you. Besides HE IS HOT!

The model college professor: challenging, helpful, interesting, clear, discussion leader, non-judging, and having no favorites. Timmer is an awesome professor. He has a sense of humor, but it doesn't take over the class. He also treats everyone equally. The RTVF faculty could learn a lesson from him

By far the most informative, helpful, and challenging professor in the department. Works with you also so you know why you got what you got. Has really loosened up since he arrived here. Best professor in the department by a long shot.

Dr. Timmer is one of the best professors in the dept...his lectures are easy to follow, and he has a great sense of humor. Tests are no problem, though there were a lot of lightly-weighted homework assignments...but they were all pretty fun, graded easily, and usually involved watching lots of TV.
