Great talker, but lacks substance in actually teaching accounting. Reads directly from PowerPoint slides. Took him a few years ago.

This class was so interesting and easy. Barden is the man! He really likes what he does. Tests are take home. It's very easy to get an A. It's ashame that he's leaving. I consider myself lucky in that sense as a graduating senior to take a class that he teaches. He is such an asset to SOM and will be greatly missed as a professor and as a person.

It's sad that he's moving and won't be teaching at Bing anymore. I did almost no work in 212 and got an A. Quite often even he had no clue what he was talking about, but he was good at talking, so to dumb people he probably sounded really smart. Barden is a walking proof that accounting is too dull by itself, cause he does so much on the side.

Get on his good side. His tests are not as easy as you would think from the way he jokes around all the time in class. Go to his office hours!! Don't bother studying the textbook, just ask him what he wants you to know. I don't know anything about accounting, but I know it was better than people taking Schwartz.

The workload of the class was indeed light. The class is just a bunch of random info, but he does tell you the specific things he wants you to get out of it. Personally I didn't learn much accounting in his class and relevance of his projects to accounting was slim. And he disagrees with the book sometimes, which can get you to lose some points.

He's a nice and FAIR guy. Yes, he might have been easier, but give him a break, he is still easier and nicer than a lot of other SOM teachers. For all of you ****ing out there, why dont u take the other guys huh? I wanna see what you will say then. He's fair, study his slides, and pay attention in class he basically gives away 1/2 his test inclass

He has made the class MUCH harder then previos years. Favors girls who wear tight clothing and flirt with him. Thinks he knows students' names- always gets them wrong. He barely teaches and then tests you, most people do NOT do well. Nice guy, terrible teacher.

This class is not easy. The tests are hard, and the information is difficult to digest in the format it is presented. There is an emphasis on the main ideas, while it is still expected that you know random details. It is hard to know what to study. Hours of study will not gurantee you an A.
