Comment:

Barta was overall good. He clearly loves what he studies and is very enthusiastic in all his lectures/labs. The course is exceptionally material-heavy and includes lots of very similar things that are just different enough to be frustrating. He does his best to get you marks wherever he can (ex, error carried forward on all tests)

Comment:

Excellent learning experience! Lots of content, but delivery is interesting and dynamic. Wants you to do well; incredibly fair (even generous) marking. Expectations and grading criteria are clear. Approachable, funny, kind, and passionate about his subject. Provides an abundance of valuable support material so you don't have to buy a textbook.

He is a really great prof, but the course was horrendous. Do you like straight memorizing 50+ species of worms, including their appearance, life cycles, and hosts? Then repeat, ad nauseam, for insects and protists? Then this course is for you!

Comment:

Probably the most knowledgeable professor I've ever had. He's very accommodating and makes an effort to get to know all his students. His lectures are very material dense but he is clear on what he expects from you. He provides course notes in addition to the lecture notes instead of a textbook, and expects you to know more than just lectures.
