-didn't get much out of the class -he does not seem very knowledgeable of Photoshop andor can't answer your questions on the program -more work days than lecture -this lectures are not helpful -only 2 class critiques, all other feedback is on D2L -unclear and non-descriptive feedback I would not take this class again.

Comment:

Mostly a lecture class. Dr. Bavaro mostly used the powerpoints from the textbook, but went in to much greater depth on some slides that he felt needed more information. Attendance is mandatory because he will drop you a letter grade if you miss more than three classes. Overall, the class informs about the pros and cons of all types of healthcare.

He may appear to be a very rude person but you have to see past that. He is very helpful especially when it comes time to take a test, he gives you everything you need to know. He has pretty political views on healthcare so do not pay attention to that if you are against universal healthcare.

So far he has been one of my favorite teachers. He is very helpful and for exams he will give a review, he goes through the chapters in the book and tells you exactly what you need to know for the tests. I was never a strong test taker but I've gotten an 88 and 86 on both of my tests so far. Take him!

Comment:

Bavaro is very straight forward in his expectations and is helpful for career advice. It is true he is a stickler about being late to class and cell phones, but it doesn't change the fact that he knows a lot about the material and teaches it accurately. Assignments are easy and tests are common sense. Get on his good side early and you'll be gold.

I took this class because I was interested in all the recent changes in healthcare. That's not what this class is about. Also, Dr. Bavaro is one of the rudest professors I've ever had (he caused 2 deaf girls in my class to drop out because he was so mean to them). Don't take this guy. Arrogant guys like him shouldn't be teaching.

I had him for current topics in health care. I loved his test-taking strategy. He makes you take it by yourself first but then lets you consult with a group. I would probably recommend him but he he seemed a little slow when I talked to him one on one. Maybe it's just me.

This man is AMAZING!!! He has done so much stuff and has so many interesting stories. Even if you're not in Health care take his US Health Care class!!! He's very easy and tells you what's on his test before you even take them!!

This is the ONLY prof @ SRU who can help you w/anything related to HSA HSM. SMART guy, LOTS of experience, willing to help if you SHOW you WANT to learn. Participation is easy to do and helps your grade A TON. Take him if you can if you have any interest in hc classes he is an amazing teacher w/lots of good stories to share.

Very simple and clear. Uses blackboard a lot. Can take test in groups and homeworks are ten points a piece just do them all. If you show up for every class its an extra 15 points and class participation points he gives out too. No excuses for not getting an A or B

Hes awesome:)....if you have to take a liberal arts..take him...all we do in his class is do questions at the end of the chap and they are part of partcip. 3 assignments for the whole semester...gives u excatly wats on the test..he was my favorite!!

Current Topics In Healthcare -- Easy class; Dr. Bavaro lays out what he wants on paper. You either do it his way or you don't get credit.... Sounds hard but he's easy to please if you just follow directions! Also, group tests help make the class a lot easier!

I love Dr. Bavaro. Group tests! You also have to do a presentation, but if you can't do public speaking like me, he says just have the other group members talk, which was awesome. Class is pretty interesting too. Definitely take him.
