I was a little bit skeptical about taking two semesters of Shakespeare (always the most exciting material), but Baxter is such an amazing prof that he truly makes the material interesting. He's always excited, helpful, and understanding. Best prof I've had at Dal so far.

Professor Baxter is by far the best professor I've had a Dalhousie. I had him 2 years ago and still suggest his classes to other students. He will make you love Shakespeare becuase he makes it easy to understand. I would take a class just because he is the teacher. Great prof.

Great professor. One of the few profs I've had that truly has that rare talent to listen to student opinions and genuinely make them feel like they've contributed something worthwhile. Not a super-hard marker, but no cakewalk either.

Loved Dr. Baxter! Extremely intelligent, nice, funny, and adorable. Quotes large chunks of Shakespeare from memory. Knew my name in a very large class even though I barely spoke in class. Listens to different perspectives and really considers them; he treats students with respect and really believes they have something to contribute.

Baxter seems like a genuinely nice fellow. He makes a large lecture hall feel like a comfortable, cozy space and incorporates discussion into his lectures. The readings are not too challenging, but interesting nonetheless. :)

Great guy, really cares about his students, even in a class of over a hundred. Helped me out when I had administrative problems and fixed the problem FOR me. Content is dry sometimes, but it seems like those are the days that he chooses to burst out into song. Makes class fun!

He is surely a boring lecturer, but a nice guy in person, though lots of guys are nice. This Prof seems like he should be locked up in an office reading Biography Literaria for hours.... he would enjoy it, barf! He does not include enough women's literature in his class either.

One of the best Profs I've ever had. It is nearly impossible to form any type of relationship with Profs at Dal, and Dr. Baxter takes the time to be familiar with his students' learning styles. His presentations are interesting and thought provoking, and he puts you at ease in the learning process.

Professor Baxter is very intersting to listen to but very difficult to learn from. His lectures are poorly organized and difficult to take decent notes from. This makes exam time very diffuclt. The markers in this class are brutal and it will kill any love for English that you may have had.

Dull beyond words. Cutesly, darling, inappropriately. Loosely organized lectures and interpretations apparenently unsupported by the texts.

No dispute about his niceness, but his class is the most boring and uninspiring class I've ever taken. It's also unfortunate that he's a bit doofy and tells bad jokes.
