Professor Beachy was one of my favorite Math teachers at NIU; He was always helpful, very knowledgeable and promotes student interest in higher mathematics; A definite asset to NIU and it's graduates!

I had him years ago. I am a grown up now. He was very helpful and a very good professor. I attended Northern at a time when very few women were math majors and he was fair, supportive, and had high expectations for women--unlike many other professors at that time.

Amazing teacher!!! Had him for this class and Math 240. Extremely helpful during office hours, hands out notes in class, and encourages questions. He wrote the book for 420, so the examples in class relate to the text it is much easier to follow. Great teacher!

The most boring class I've ever taken. The lectures are useless, to many details, you just "sink" in a great amount of lemmas, definitions, etc, most of which are garbage. You'd better spent time home and learn the subject by yourself.

this teacher is awesome! he is soo nice and extremely helpful, although he teaches confusingly. i would recommend reading the sections of the book- you could honestly teach the material yourself. his tests and quizzes are VERY easy and he is very understanding of ANY of your problems. THIS IS AN EASY A CLASS!!!

Amazing teacher. Hands out notes with all of the important material, goes over whatever you want in class. DO THE HOMEWORK. JUST DO IT. Tests are tough, but that's what studying is for! Always willing to talk and help out outside of class. Would take this teacher again for any class.

It's a really boring class but it is so easy to pass, there is such a big curve that is set that you should have no problem in passing. He is a really really nice guy just boring to listen to. He cares about his students and helps them if needed. Just do ALL the homework because usually the problems from the homework will be on the test.

He is a very intelligent guy, but has no idea how to teach. He can't express things well, and often "re-did" many problems until he got them correct, or found the correct way. If you take him, hire a tutor too! going to class definately didn't pay off!
