Fantastic class. Notes are all-chalkboard and things move very fast , so you can't really miss class, but you'd never want to -- explanations are clear and you learn a ton of both the math and the actual design of these systems -- he has a ton of practical experience. Tests were fair, homeworks sometimes long and tricky. Conceptual quizzes are nice

His exams were easy as long as you genuinely knew what you were learning in class,not the most helpful but he will give clear explanations. he goes fast,and doesnt pause at all, but everything is on the board so you kind of have time to write down, if you pit in a good share of effort the class is easy with the professor.

Prof. Blanidno is one of the best teachers I have had in my 6 years at WPI. I have had 3 classes with him and 1 graduate class. His graduate gas dynamics class is the best course I've taken at WPI. Very clear, very fair, very helpful.

Below comment is almost completely untrue. Blandino goes out of his way to make distinguishable P's and rhos. I would not say he ever emphasized memorization over understanding. Very good at explaining; among the best profs I've had at WPI.

Aweful Teacher. Emphasizes memorization over learning possibly because he has difficulty getting people to understand. Uses indistinguishable symbols to represent different properties in an equation (cannot tell row from p for density and pressure).

Extremely good lecturer. Creates great notes throughout class on the overhead, rather than crappy PowerPoints. Homework can be difficult, but it makes the tests seem easier. Only way he could be better is if he did a few more examples in class rather than just notes on theory. Overall excellent, highly recommended professor.
