3 tests for 50% of grade (not too hard). 4 labs for 50% of grade. I spent about 15-20 hours on each lab but got over 100 on each with extra credit. Easy A if you care enough to put in the effort.

Comment:
Very easy course. Provides a good graduate level introduction to HDL, lectures are fairly interesting. Three projects and a final. DON'T overpromise on your final project or you will have a much more difficult time than necessary. VERY easy grader if you put in effort. START PROJECTS EARLY. 80% of class finished projects the day of. Don't be them.

Comment:
He is very full of knowledge and seems a bit pretenious in his approach to discussions. He is reluctant to offer answers to questions, if you get an answer it will be either evasive or very detailed and accurate. Generally didn't like the attitude, but I suspect it was alot of personality conflicts. One person suggested it was a 'british' thing.

Very clear and helpful...shows genuine interest and excitement in the subject and is therefore very easy to listen to in lecture. Work is both interesting and relevant. Easy to talk to.

This class was one of the best learning experiences that I have ever had (1999). I still use the class notes for my job. He makes you work hard, but he is fair.
