Not that great explaining things but gets the job done. Tests are just like homework. Make sure you do every problem of the homework and understand how to do each one. Final is a little more difficult but do-able. Good teacher overall.

This was my second semester with Dr. Cantwell. I find that he extremely helpful and his tests are very fair. The tests are essentially the homework, so if you do the homework and ask questions about it in class, it's not bad at all.

not a good teacher at all. is not clear in class. flies quickly through examples while making many errors on the board. too old to be teaching. grades his exams unfairly. avoid this guy at all costs.

He does not explain things very well, however, if you spend the time doing the homework, then the tests are fairly easy. The final is much harder than the tests, and he does not take homework grades, so you need to be a good test taker to do well in the class

Basically do the homework problems. The four tests he gives are just HW problems. The final, however, will consist of the problems the majority of the class missed on their tests. So study the hardest problems from each test b/c that's what your final will be. He's not a bad guy just way too old to be teaching. Class is always at 8AM so yeah....

Dr. Cantwell is way past his prime. During class, the only time you need to pay attention is to correct his mistakes. The rest of the time, he simply scribbles on the chalkboard. The book will serve to be more helpful. Avoid this teacher.

dr cantwell is really nice and if u go to his office hours he is really helpful but as far as class please dont do it.well we really didnt do nething but go over homewwork answers wich was not graded but it was up to u to do them and we only dide like 2 0r 3 examples of the the next lecture if u want to teach yourself this is the class for you

after attempting to pay attention the first two weeks, i realized how unimportant it was. altho he took attendance every day, i stopped showing up (the syllabus says nothing about repurcussions for not going). taught myself the rest of the course, was prolly for the best. most memorable part - he didnt know what ln(1) was, got out his calculator

Cantwell is a really nice guy, but way past his prime. He forgets what the problem is asking halfway through the problem. He is really helpful if you ask for help and his tests come right from the homework. Do go to class even though his lectures are boring. Overall, he's a bad lecturer and the book is bad, but if you put in the work it's not bad.

Mr. Cantwell is a nice guy, but he needs to retire. He has no clue where the students are in the book, he gets lost while giving examples, and never goes over homework. If you like teaching yourself, Cantwell is the man for you.

Your entire grade is just tests, and most of the material is review of Linear Algebra (if you've had it) or Calc III. I never went to class much, but from what I heard from others, he was a pretty bad teacher. He gives out homework in class, the tests are exactly like the homework, and I just taught myself with the book before all the tests.
