This class is generally not very hard. Yet, his exams are very easy to mess up. He will give you exams that have just a one line answer for 30 marks. So basically if you get that wrong, you'll end with a C for that exam. All of the exams are real easy but you will have to spend a lot of time reading and understanding the material by yourself.

Very nice Professor. Go to class even if you can't pay attention because of how early it is. Its a very reasonable class as long as you do the homework and study from old exams.

he was rewriting the lab book for my semester, so i don't know how clear it is now. but the labs are pretty basic. some wiring can get tedious, but it's all to reinforce what you should know already. it's a good mix of your 251 and 353 knowledge. easy grader for the labs, which is the opposite for his tests in 353

he shows slides, and if you read the text book you're pretty much golden. there are past exams floating around campus grab a hold of some and you'll be fine. The material is actually really interesting if you're trying to go architecture. also the material comes back and haunts you in 495. also don't be that guy that uses his online hw solutions

I strongly recommend taking this professor for this class since he know the material from the inside and out. Buy the textbook; not only the book is very helpful and clear on explaining the topic but the professor is the author of it. To do well in this class: read the textbook, do the homework, and go to lectures. So far the best ECE professor.

The text book was good but insufficient for the online course. The web notes were extremely insufficient as well as the CBT tutorial. You would expect better proficient documentation since an online course is missing the instructor. Although I learned new material, the learning was not to the level which I anticipated.

As others have said, he really nit picks on the exams to a point where it is beyond reason. I have taken a similar course at another school and find the book to be awful and woefully outdated. It focuses mainly on 30 year old technology and really doesn't prepare you for working in industry. A lot of topics are also explained poorly.

Absolutely awful. Don't take him if you want an A. He makes his exams impossible for anyone to pass, even if you know all the material. Your answers have to match his exactly, or else it's completely wrong. I would never recommend him to anyone.

really good professor. knows his stuff. gets feedback at the end of every class and goes over the confusing material at the next class. you will have alot of fun while learning if you are really interested in the course material. he also makes sure everyone understands what is going on.

Prof's good and organized. Nice side stories. The course is easy in the beginning, then gradually gets hard so pay attention and attend class all the time. Topics are pretty much related to the previous one. Do the homeworks. It does help.

I actually found it easy. The problem is the exams. You come in knowing your stuff, but because of minor mistakes or you forgot a minor detail, you'll get a lot of points taken off. He expects answers to be perfect and exactly match what he has, alternative solutions are rejected, no matter how reasonable. Just don't take him if you want an A.

He looks like Rick Moranis, I think he's smarter too. Great guy, really cares about teaching/students. His handwriting is tough to read. Tough material if you don't pay attention. READ HIS BOOK ask questions if you don't understand.

this professor saw the ratings from this website and completely revamped his first exam, I did so bad that im thinking about why i decided to even bother with this class... i think a professor who follows opinions, should see what works...
