Personally, I really disliked this professor. I was hoping for someone more passionate about this subject and was hoping to learn something new. Turns out, that's not the case. He takes his sweet time and either brushes over things or rambles about the same topic for the whole lecture. Oh, and did I mention he never finishes on time?

I took his class in the summer so I guess it had a less intense atmosphere. Lectures are kind of scattered and sometimes seems as if hes kinda talking to himself - which I personally found frustrating. DONT let him catch you using your phone because he will not hesitate to call you out. HW is online - no need to take notes as he posts PPTs.

He is very unorganized. Takes forever to grade. You never know what your grade is. You need to read a whole book and you need to read the text book. The papers are 7 to 9 pages and then the second paper is 5 to 7 pages. Tests were take home. He is never clear on what he really wants in the tests. Hes nice but not a good teacher.

Professor Clarke clearly understands basic concepts of psychology. The problem is, he spends most of the class talking about his personal life or getting off-topic. Sometimes, he treats students as if they are in high school and it distracts from the lecture. I would suggest more videos and more interaction between the students and the professor.

This was a very weird class. The lectures are pretty boring and the prof was alright. Very nice guy but nothing was clear. It took him 2 months to grade our tests and he doesn't put grades up. All the tests are questions that he gives you before and 2 papers and 1 oral. Weird class. He is a very nice guy though

maybe it was a bad semester but he seems to have overwhelmed himself with the # of classes he's teaching & didn't spend time to help students individually. Seemed to criticize the students for his inability to stay organized. (refused to respond to e-mails that didn't have the course section in the subject, grades were submitted to blackboard late)

Clarke was great. He explained everything well by providing real life examples and gave his student a good amount of time to complete homework. Exams are a bit hard but you have to read and he even does a review before the exams. He offers extra credit which is not hard at all! Very caring. Non judgmental. He loves Psychology.

He really does care about the subject, but simply fails to actually teach it. He goes off on large tangents so be ready to teach yourself. Multiple and full essays for tests. Really sucks keeping up with putting grades in. Calls on you even if you haven't raised your hand. Lots of extra credit which was one of the only good things about this class.

Professor Clarke is an amazing professor. He expects a bit more from his students, but is a fair grader on exams and papers. He cares about his students gaining a good perspective on not only psy101 material, but how to be a responsible college student. He is always accommodating and willing to help you out if you need it. Highly recommend him.

Ad long as you study for the tests you should be able to do pretty well in the course. He lets you use 2 note cards for every test. Caring teacher, passionate about PSY.

Comment:
Professor Clarke was very bland. He repeats a ton of stuff and all of the lectures are online so taking notes is not even very necessary. The class was super easy, but be careful not to procrastinate on the final research report project! Super easy to put it off, but you'll thank yourself if you get started on it sooner rather than later.

Prof. Clarke's presentations are a bit vanilla. The class seemed more interesting when he went off on slight tangents. As a human being, he is a great person. He is very understanding if you are going through tough times in your life.

Prof. Clarke is a great, traditional professor. He isn't going to put on a show for you--he's going to lecture, assign readings and projects, give exams, and expect that you are an adult and can learn without a Sesame Street presentation. If you don't like that, forget about a 4 year school. Frankly I wish more classes were taught so directly.

This class was an easy A. He just lectures from slides which didn't make the class very interesting. He is very nice and all, but his teaching style wasn't the best. I never really used the book, so save your money only the online program is needed.

Lectures are long and can be boring. All of his lectures go off your textbook, so as long as you read the chapters you'll be fine. His exams are specifically from the chapters for that unit. There's a long research essay near the end of the semester and he grades it pretty tough, so be prepared for that. Overall, he was a helpful and nice teacher.

Worst teacher ever wouldn't recommend taking him to anybody. He does't teach, goes off topic about nothing, doesn't upload grades, very disrespectful when you speak to him about your grade. He comes off as a cool teacher in the beginning but he's ... garbage.
