With no exaggeration he is one of the hidden gems of RCC. Honestly it is a public service that he is teaching here and not at SOU, because he very well could out teach many of the teachers at SOU. He is the best professor I have ever had.

I sincerely enjoyed my time in SP111 despite the anxiety I suffered over speaking in front of the group... still don't understand where it comes from. John is a wonderful teacher who made me want to do my best for his class. I originally registered because this course is a requirement for me, but I would definitely take it again even if it wasn't.

John is, hands down, one of the best teachers I have had in my college career thus far. John is one of the few teachers I have met who not only has an avid interest in their subject, but also in teaching itself. My only regret is that I did not have more classes with him.

No one likes public speaking, but John made me feel comfortable and confident in my own abilities. I love the atmosphere of support he created. He made a consistent effort to find something to compliment even a terribly done speech for and didn't knock anyone down even if they deserved it. I have been at RCC 2 Years and this was my favorite class.

John Cole, simply put, one of the best directors, teachers and mentors I've had to date. My first term with him I was very unsure of his directing style, but he really makes the whole cast look GREAT no matter if it's Shakespeare, Brecht or anything else. He always ends class with everyone getting together and saying, "We can do this!"

I had so much fun! He gives everyone something to do if they don't want to act, they can be a part of stage lighting, costume designing, or others. We did full productions 2/3 terms I took him. The schedule was quite challenging but the end result paid off. We were like one big happy family - we all got really close. I looked forward to his class.
