Comment:

this class was the cause of several headaches. His notes were unclear, sloppy, often incoherent and contradicting. His tests were long and hard -- harder than his notes would imply. The questions on the test were worded so awkwardly that they bordered dyslexia or illiteracy. Nice enough during the class, but i'm not paying for a comedian.

Prof. Confer is one of the most difficult teachers i have EVER come across. Not just difficult in material, but a difficult person to deal with. His tests are ridiculous and unclear, very hard and had nothing to do with what he actually taught. I would NOT recommend this teacher to anyone.

Comment:

Confer is a great guy, but his tests are so hard. He expects way too much for an intro/elective class. He's very smart, and he expects the students to pick up on everything the way he does. Even if you understand the material well, his tests are worded in a tricky manner. If you're just trying to fill elective credit, maybe look elsewhere.

so boring..tests come from nothing he lectures about, the questions are so unclear. hes a smart guy, but has no idea to teach and get his points across. you will be lost unless you already know a lot about the subject. hes way too into birds and doesn't teach this class as though it is an intro class.
