Worst professor I've ever had. I'm not sure how he was still allowed to teach. average scores were 40-60%

had him fall '09, and wasnt "terrible". his tests were killer, average was usually 40-60%, but daily homework "should" supplement that a bit if you make use of everybody in class to help you, but you really need to pay attention and study hardcore. curves decently, ended up with a B.

Professor is almost completely oblivious to the student body. Will begin class immediately with a quiz then start writing information in regards to a problem without telling us at all what he is doing. Definitely favors certain ethnicities over others, and is no help when asked a question. COMPLETELY unsocial, barely cares if anyone is listening!

Comes off as a jerk, deep down seems nice enough. Class totally dependent on rank, lectures not always helpful..you must read, comprehend, practice and become friends with many students in the class if you want to achieve a good grade. Missed days = missed points, learning opportunities sometimes unclear and Dr. Devlin usually refuses to help

He was very understanding to students who weren't Engineering/Physics majors. He was helpful if you asked, and his curve was very generous.

He is a pretty good teacher for lectures. He does a good job of explaining the examples he does in class. His tests are HARD so study up. The most important thing is to not fall behind and you'll be fine. Also make sure to read the book. He grades his class on a curve, so keep track of your rank in the class. I would recommend him.

A lot of people put him down and say he's hard but I have to disagree (and I was not a his favorite)! The class is easy and actually fun! Lots of hands on assignments. The hw is easy and test aren't bad as long as you study Take Him... I am waiting to take him again.

Not that bad at teaching the subject, but he's very difficult to approach if you have questions. Very quick grading. Class attendance is manditory.

This teacher is very organised and returns graded work fast. His website is great. Teaches straight from book, and provides crystalclear lectures. His MC questions can be little tricky, but if you study will get them. The workout problems are pretty easy. A little intimidating to ask him questions in person; however, he is very good with email.

This professor has lost his passion for teaching. He really should retire. His exams whoop everyone no matter how hard you study and his multiple choice makes no sense and you will fail. He does not curve the grades and has no remorse about failing 60% of the class. Use all of your power not to take him EVER!!!!

This guy is very mean and intimidating. Makes fun of people in class when they ask questions. He was nice in office hours, but never really explained the material, just did it. His in class demos are cool, and was a fair grader. If you're okay with your professor being a jerk then take him. But I prefer a nice one who seems to care if you learn.

People who complain that Devlin is difficult are either lazy or just dumb. As in most classes, if you put in the work, you can get your A. Do ALL of the hw & read the chapters to get more pts on reading quizzes (these points add up.) do and REdo those prac exams ! ALL mult. choice come from a test q bank! NOT a bad class !

Must attend class everyday as you get class assignments/reading quizes everyday. Tons of points besides tests, and he curves based on overall averages, so if most people flunk a test, you're still doing well in the class. Normal homework is online and you get unlimited chances to work out problems. Labs were simple. Tests are the most difficult.

Very helpful when I had questions. Plenty of points besides exams, so you can do bad on the exams and still get a good grade. He curves at the end of the class: Avg is C+/B- according to avg points. You must go to class, as there are lecture activities and reading quizzes. Exams:Multiple Choice is tough, but the work problems are do-able.

He is ok. He does very few numerical examples its all variables and EXTREMELY confusing. When he does do a example with numbers he almost always gets his math wrong. Very Boring. Web HW is not helpful(required), you dont get unlimited chances on exam like on web work. Read quizes are bad. Look at pics and examples in book.

Tests are horrible. Dont even bother with muti-choice. Use your time studying the Work problems. The rest of the class is ok. Make sure to attend class for the lecture activities cause that really helps off set your tests

His multiple choice are terrible and are 40% of the grade, the work problems are ok if you solve the homework. No extra credit at all. USELESS Prof. and don't bother to ask questions, he gets pist off. Try to avoid him.
