Comment:
Kang has an outstanding command in the subject of computer graphics. He is exceptionally organized and very good with each and every concept. I started with a very limit knowledge in computer graphics and after the course I feel like I have reached an intermediate level. Assignments are tough, full of learning and exams are easy.

Professor Zhang is a very fair professor, what he lectures will be what he puts on the exam, nothing more, nothing less. He treats all students professionally, but his grading system is a strange one. He won't give any multiple choice questions on his exams because he treats his students like college students/adults.

A great professor, the best one you can take for CS3340 imo. If you do not already have an understanding of assembly, you will struggle, start learning the commands for MIPS and using the Mars compiler ahead of time. 5 assignments, 3 of them programming in mips. 3 tests, including final. Treats students like professionals.

There are two tests for the entire semester. They tend to be based on things he mentions in class and in the review he gives. The lectures were about 3 hrs once a week and very heavy. Get ready to spend time reviewing outside of class. Comp Arch is a hard class but Zhang tries to simplify it, but his explanations are not always clear nor accurate.

Exceptional teaching ability. His education philosophy is "understanding is more important than memorization". It's a good idea to become somewhat acquainted with the MIPS instruction set beforehand, though Dr. Zhang explains it quite well.

Took for Computer Architecture. Good professor, but do yourself a favor if you're thinking of taking this class then LEARN MIPS before hand. At least hop on youtube and get the syntax down. Seriously, this will make or break your grade. The class is hard but it's a good class and he teaches well. Huge learning curve if you're new to assembly. MIPS!
