Professor Dwyer is an ok teacher. He has good powerpoints, but few examples. Lots of memorization. Tests are worth a lot of points and he doesn't go over everything in class that will be on the test. Very few extra credit points available. All of the homework is online.

Coming to his class is important to learn the information, but the slides are online if missed. There is an exam every two chapters on info. One quiz per chapter and one homework assignment. Mastering chemistry is an online assignment due every chapter. His tests don't accurately represent the material for quizzes and assignments and are lengthy.

He moves really fast so you have to make sure you're caught up. He's an overally decent professor, he's really organized and is a little intimidating to ask questions to since he expects you to know the content well.

I absolutely love Dwyer! He makes a lot of chemistry jokes that are hilarious if you understand the material. He is the nicest guy and very helpful if you take the time to ask. Show up and study from the powerpoints or read the book. Go over example problems. If you have the general idea, he'll give you a lot of credit even if the answser is wrong.

This course was awful. 0 help from professor and he lacked general interest in helping his students. His exams were SO hard. I took AP Chem in high school and received extra credit and scored below 50% on my first exam in Dwyers class.

Great professor! You do not have to be good with maths as long as you know the chemistry formulas and use them in exams. Your calculations answers do not have to be exactly correct to get a lot of credits. Great professor!! :D I would take him again

I think Dr. Dwyer is pretty much the best professor at St. Kate's. He doesn't like it when you don't try, but if you try and come to him if you need help, he will really do his best to help you understand. Honestly, I am so glad I chose to take this class from him.

Dr. Dwyer is very helpful if you actually ask him to help you. He's really passionate about his work and you can tell! He gets excited about the subject material and makes it fun and engaging. He offers extra credit and makes worksheets to help you study. He is willing to go over problems in class if you need help. He's super nice, I recommend him!

Comes off as not a people person, which kind of made it uncomfortable to talk to him. But if you need help seriously talk to him. I found myself in the O'Neil center just about everyday because that class is no joke. I use to love chem in high school, but it changed here. I liked that he is organized which was helpful but the tests were horrible.

He loved to give my class pop quiz, but I heard he stopped doing those since our grades proved that we did not study ahead. He is pretty good though. Because it is gen chem it is going to be challenging but he is a good professor overall and posts all of his power point notes online for us to print. I would not mind taking him again!

Love this professor! He offers 20 points in extra credit is pretty clear, test are easy to follow same with quizzes. He is funny because he is a huge nerd and thinks he is funny. I hate the homework on mastering chemistry but it deducts points but he is really easy to learn from and super helpful. TAKE HIM FOR CHEM 1 AND 2

Dr. Dwyer is a great guy, who knows and teaches chemistry well. He's very willing to help you outside of class anytime you need it. His lectures and power points are very straight forward and cohere with his exams. As long as you attend his lectures and pay attention when he works through examples you'll do fine in his course.

Monotone. Expects a lot of previous knowledge. Pop quizzes. Required to know something if its mentioned once in class or is in the book. Must have to pool a lot of outside sources to succeed in the class. Messes up examples. Gives assignments without covering what is on them. Do not take him. Other teachers are way easier for the same class.

He is a very good teacher. He's incredibly smart but as for a student, it'll be hard to catch on. It is true there is lots to do, you have to literally CATCH UP on your work if you want a good grade. It's hard, but I believe he is a good teacher. I learned more than I ever have, so I would recommend him if you really want something challenging!

I did well first semester until I was in his class my second semester of General chemistry. He does not know how to explain for non-chemistry major students! He got mad at the class this one time because we corrected him! Of course, he is the head of the chemistry department, so he knows the subject so well that he can't explain it. Just no.......

Dr. Dwyer is a wonderful teacher. Some may say that he's hard, but just catch up on the work and you'll be fine! His REVIEW SESSIONS are a must go; he is very helpful at review sessions but also in general. Don't be scared to approach him, he's a wonderful person! Just catch up on the powerpoints and homework and you'll be fine!

I've had Dwyer for two semesters. His exams are a little tricky but as long as you ask questions it's not too bad. He's always willing to meet with you. I met with him at least once every week. Very helpful. Chemistry is hard in general so make sure you don't fall behind. He may move quickly sometimes in lecture but it's only meet a time frame.

I am not very interested in chemistry, and did not have a good teacher in HS. He is a critical grader on exams and studying is necessary. All powerpoints online for use which is helpful and is always willing to meet to go over questions. For gen chem, hard but informative! Study hard! He made it easy to understand.
