Eisch is a perfect example of a professor who got tenure and so doesn't care at all. He writes painfully slowly on an overhead that cannot be seen from the back of the room. Unwilling to help students outside of class, and doesn't seem to realize that this stuff is hard for some people. Drops 2 out of 5 tests though, which is great. No MC on tests

I feel like I didn't learn much in the class. He mostly repeats stuff from orgo I. You have to learn lots of equations, but he did not actually ask them in the tests. He asks questions in the exam which are not really covered in the class. Averages are so low and easy to get A.

Possibly the funniest professor, if you actually listened to what he was saying. Not helpful at all in terms of actually learning Orgo II (for those of us who actually wanted to learn it), but probably one of the easiest classes to get an A in (probably a 75 average would have gotten you an A). Just hope you get a nice TA to grade your test.

Easiest class in the world. I got an A in the class but i dont think i learned one thing except for spectroscopy. I took orgo 2 with him but all he taught for most of the year was orgo 1. Easy A but then you are screwed for the orgo 2 part of the mcat because you really dont learn anything.

This is the worst chem class I ever took in Bing! It was very hard to pay attention to what he said when you were busy taking his notes. If you have to take Orgo II with him, you definitely need extra help from others except the prof. Good luck!

Love this guy. Used to hate Organic Chemistry after taking O-chem I with Kisslig. Now I love Organic Chemsitry!!! He could be unclear from time to time but give out the review packet so no need to complain...People say he is mean but he always has been nothing but nice to me. As long as you don't bother the old man, he will be nice to you.

I'm going to be a senior and this is by far the worst teacher I have ever had in my entire life. If you plan on taking a class with him, dont!! He is mean, refuses to help you and there's no way to understand anything he's saying. The absolute worst.

This guy is a nightmare. He writes painstakingly slow, his handwriting is hard to read, and he doesn't post his notes on Bb. Most of what he teaches in class is irrelevant to what is actually on the exams. The only good thing is that he drops 3 out of 5 exams, and there's a decent curve since nobody understands the material.

Eisch isn't terrible, he doesn't go by the book though, although looking at the list of reactions at the end of each chapter, very helpful. Memorize his notes & reactions he gives. He drops 1 quiz & 2 tests. He doesn't use powerpoint, he reiterates everything you need to know, which is great. Overall, not the most exciting, but recommended.

ok so here's the deal with Eisch- terrible lecturer, gives notes and mechanisms that will NEVER be on test, but that review packet he gives is a godsend. memorize it and its an automatic A

Anyone who complains about Eisch needs a reality check. The guy gives 5 tests, in which you can drop two of them. The tests are straight from the notes, and to make things even easier, he gives review packets for each exam. Easy A if you do the work...

As much as I didn't like him, it was almost sad when the final lecture ended. His tests are difficult in that they cover alot but yet fair in that he doesn't really ask questions that require you to really think outside of the box. Just put in the time.

He is a highly distinguished organic chemist therefore he is very proper and comes off a little condecending. His tests are hard but manageable if you put in the time and there is a curve. If you talk to him about non course work he can be fairly nice.

People hate Eisch b/c he is old, pronounces everything slowly and is cold toward his students. Beneath all that he's a pretty good prof. He teaches you everything you need to know for his test and for the MCAT and his notes are totally clear and organized

The worst professor I have ever had. He is nasty to those who ask questions, and he never directly answers them. He is completely unclear and unreasonable. The man should not be a professor, he belongs alone behind a desk in a locked office!
