Comment:

If you dont spend tons of time each week practicing programming on your own you wont pass. Ask your classmates for help and it will become more clear, i guarantee you there are multiple sweaty programmer guys with a weirdly high amount of experience who can disciple you in the ways of programming. I managed to pull a C just by studying old tests.

Comment:

Great experience overall. My gripe with Prof. Tetzner is that, while she said frequently to ask her questions, she presumed a very deflective or condescending manner that visibly put students off. When the questions were tough, she lost that attitude, so it may just be fatigue. Otherwise, good lecturer, respectful, and pleasant.

Challenging but fair. She wants people to do well, but programming is not an easy task for people who have never done it before. She panhandles for questions every class.

Highly recommend if you can get her for CS140 (Java programming). Does an excellent job at breaking down the logic in code and it's clear she really wants her students to succeed.

The issue with this professor is that she teaches C++ for engineers at a level that is a) too low and b) too confusing for exams you get 4 exams (hardest which is classes) and a bunch of easy programming assignments to buffer your grade the exams are too confusing compared to her notes/the textbook/and the assignments, leaving around 60% avgs.

Mrs. Tetzner is one of the better teachers I have had this far. She is very helpful and provides a forum to message her with questions which she responds to almost immediately. She occasionally gives extra credit as well! Her feedback on tests is excellent anf helpful for further understanding.

Possibly the worst professor I have ever had. She is a complete waste of time and should be avoided at all costs. You will struggle to learn, and she teaches based on her lack of experience, not how most students learn. She lacks the depth to teach computer language, and lacks the fundamental intelligence to educate. Truly awful.

She is a very friendly person, but a little self obsessed. Half the class was spent listening to some trivial story about her life. On top of that, she had a tough time with Java. We'd be in class, and have to watch her fiddle around because she doesn't get how packages work. If you're serious about this line of work, take Socrates, your welcome.

If come to class, do the programming assignments, and study, you will be fine. Also, the final is optional! She gives a decent amount of extra credit at the beginning of the semester, so get it while you can. She is in her office a LOT to help student, so don't be afraid to ask specific questions. I liked her a lot and would take from her again!

Very helpful teacher if you go to her office she will explain what you do not understand to you. It is a difficult course, but if you study and do the assignments you will do fine. Her tests aren't worth as much because of the programming assignments which made it nice. Would recommend taking.

If your not CMIS or CS..GOOD LUCK..You teach yourself If you want to make it You need to work with others. She makes fun of students when they ask questions. Her tests are difficult and you will just code with pen and paper...Better than Socrates though......

She gives quizes every class, which mandates your attendence which shouldn't be necessary for this class. On her tests and final she likes questions that ask "which is the BEST option" even though all may be a correct option. You just have to guess which one SHE likes the most. Tests are weighted very heavy for the final grade.

Ok teacher. She gave quizzes every day of class but dropped the lowest 2 scores. Some graded assignments worth A lot of points also. A lot of points in class so if you read you should be fine on prequizzes

She is the worst teacher that I have ever had. I took her because of the comments that were on here and they are not true. She was not helpful at all outside of class. The class is very difficult, but she makes it even harder. Also makes fun of students for asking questions. I feel dumb most of the time in her class.
