basically its gen chem on steroids. we had 3 tests and a final. If the class as a whole doesn't do well, you will retake the test. use the book to do practice problems. sometimes there are problems you don't do in class and are on the test. he wants you to do well. if an answer on the test is not given, hell ignore it and not give a free point.

Insturmental Analysis-one of the hardest classes Ive taken so far as a chem major. There was only 3 tests. The class is not what I thought it would be. We learned computer programming, binary etc. I thought it would be more mass spec,IR, NMR. emailed him twice and never got a response. good luck ya'll

Dr. Turner is a very good instructor and is exceedingly fair. Grade is based on the highest three of four exams with no other grades. Lectures are clear, but the book needs to be replaced (the homework questions are very poorly written from the text). I would gladly take him again for another course.

My favorite professor of all time. If you have a chance take Chem Information, mixes science with philosophy, great enthusiasm, cares about students very much and takes the time to explain things to you.

He's a great guy. He teaches using the Socratic method, which I love. He wants to make sure everyone understands the concepts and will spend extra time to make sure this happens. Also, if he feels that there is something we should know, he will diverge from the curriculum in order to teach it to us. You will enjoy his class a lot.
