I took my Hist Gen Ed as a dual-enrolled student with Professor Fea, which meant it was my first college class ever. I highly enjoyed his lectures and felt that the paper assignments were clear. You have to take lots of notes during his lectures and work hard to keep up, if you do this he is a solid choice for your Hist Gen Ed.

Very passionate about History and cares about the students he admires. Tells funny stories, gives interesting lectures. Gives you a letter grade without lots of feedback, never sure where the grade comes from. Sometimes class doesn't have a flow, take great notes one day and the next none at all. It is lecture heavy, not discussion based. Good guy!

Dr. Fea is a great Prof but he's a really hard grader. I took PA History and US History with him during the same semester. Take the grade you think you got, drop ten points, and there's your actual grade. Also NEVER miss this class. I was sick one day and missed so much material.

Professor Fea is the best history lecturer I've ever had. He works hard to develop a clear understanding of the time as well as why history happened in the way it did. I found it hard to follow him at first because you can't always discern what is most important, but notes are essential in this class, and just know you'll need to take a lot succeed

A very passionate professor and lecturer who clearly loves not only his job but also the subject matter. He didn't grade nearly as hard as I thought he would, either, so that was just an added bonus. (Class America in the Age of the Revolution)

One of my favorite History professors at Messiah, there is no wonder why he was the department chair. Strong understanding of American history and made sure to address popular misconceptions throughout his lectures. Great orator. Exhibits Christ-likeness in his daily interactions with students. Would invite over for dinner.

Dr. Fea really makes you think about history and how it has shaped our country. I really gained a better appreciation for it. Exams are all essays, but he grades pretty fairly. Also, he kinda shouts in lecture , so you may not want too close to the front.

Fea is awesome! If you didn't like history before prepare to change your mind. His passionate, evangelistic style of teaching is compelling and entertaining. He debunks the common misconception that history degrees are worthless. However, He doesn't tolerate inattention in his class. He will call you out if you're texting, sleeping, or disruptive.

Fea is a hard grader, but a hilarious lecturer. He is very passionate about what he teaches. Very strict, no phones allowed in lecture, laptops allowed but another prof sits in the back to monitor usage. Blue book exams suck, get used to them. I would recommend Snyder over Fea for Seminar.

i learned more from this class than from any history i have ever taken. he lectures the entire time and you take notes alot of notes. you dont have to go to lecture but you must go to seminar. the tests are challanging and you must study and prepare for them but if you go before for help, he will, and it is worth it.

He loves to talk! During lecture his voice is extremely loud! Knows what he's talking about. Expects students to do a good amount of work. Seminars you need to study for the fairly hard quizzes. His tests are essays and hard to get an A on. Likes details! Nice guy who has a great sense of humor in class and gets comfortable if you let him.

amazing prof, seriously...the tests are a little on the hard side, but he helps you prepare for them really well, as long as you show up to his lectures and you pay attention to the study guides he gives you before, it is easily done...even if you're just looking for something to fill a gen ed requirement, this is a really amazing class

Fea and Wilson both are very personable. If you are a history major.. just give it time.. as a soph., it has taken my freshman year and half of this year to get close to them.. they have so much going on.. seriously.. plus.. they have a life outside of acedemia too!
