Prof. Fields is a great professor. Took his French 1 class and just signed up for his French 2 class. The book is mandatory - all HW is done through it online. A couple exercises and 1 quiz per week. He lectures in French and then in English, which can be intimidating at first, but he makes sure everyone understands before moving on. Def recommend.

I'm taking this class simply because I want to learn to speak french. Professeur Fields is an awesome instructor. He explains everything and he answers your emails. It's not an easy course there is a lot to learn and a lot of homework. He's extremely patient and kind his class room time includes interactive activities.

I took his class for HUM2020. All that was required is that you show up for the lectures, and you keep up to date on the assignments. I did the hybrid version of the class and it wasn't challenging at all.

Entertaining, free-wheeling class applies legal/ethical reasoning to communications. Workout for the mind. Modest writing load, but precision, conciseness vital. Lots of study time needed to read text chapters, prepare for quizzes at start of each class. Punctuality is crucial. Class seems intimidating at first, but possible to do well with effort.

Prof. Fields is a wonderful instructor. I took his class for both FRE1120 and FRE1121 (French I and II). He is by far the best French professor in FSCJ. There is no reason to fail, I received an A in both classes. Bonne chance!

Hum.Forum, topic was Obscenity In The Arts. Ended up being the best class by far of all classes I've taken at FSCJ, I very highly recommend him! He is fair, knowledgeable, happy to answer q's w/out making you feel dumb, encourages you to think outside the box, and works hard to facilitate an interesting and unique class. Give this topic/him a try!

Recently Mr. Fields contracted some sort of illness that kept him away from class off and on for a period of about a month. He still remained extremely consistent with sending out information and study material. His class is the most fun class I've taken at FSCJ thus far. Everything on quizzes and exams are only what he discusses. Il est super!

One of the best professors I ever had due in no small part to his passion for the French language and genuine care for his students. I have taken French with four different teachers and he is the ONLY one who taught it in such a manner that every phrase indelibly sticks! Tu me manques!!

If you have questions he is very willing to help and he makes sense when he's teaching the class. The only down side, to me, is having to do a bunch of activities with the tutors, but that's just because I don't learn that way. Great professor for French 1!

He is definately my favorite professor. I took him for French I and I'm looking forward to French II. He also teaches Parisian Humanities, and I'm taking that as well. He is very helpful, he explains everything very clearly, he makes class fun and interesting, and he's a really nice guy! I HIGHLY recommend Professor Fields to everyone!

Professor Fields is great! He grades fairly. Pay attention and you'll do well. Had him for Humanities where he taught with Prof. Holt. Very interesting. You get two different points of view. Everyone participated in discussions and the class was very enlightening. Recommend!

Professor is an amazing, funny, helpful, and just plain awesome! He does require a fair amount of work and grades fairly. He does the best he can to teach about his French passion, even to a Humanities class. Definitely will guarantee you an A if all work is completed. Highly recommended.

Seemed distracted entire term-grading policy changed at whim. Introduced lab "manual", which same for FRE1120. Spoke 90% in French- good for exposure, not good for discussing assignments. Watched pointless films, listened to pointless songs- feel like I didn't get anything out of it... 2 1/2 hrs of pure torture.
