Gildea is an amazing professor and always willing to go the extra mile to help you outside of class, however, this is not by any means a class that is an easy A. For reference, there had to be a 15 point scale in my class so that the best performing student would get an A. It was an amazing class and I highly recommend it.

Professor Gildea is the best professor I have come across at Wheaton. Some concepts that I have not been able to understand for 2 years in my high school economics class, Professor Gildea explained in less than 10 minutes. Quiz's help with the homework and if you work hard you'll see results!

Listening is the most important skill to have for a Gildea class. He explains complex ideas with such ease all you have to do is listen. He wants to give you as much info as possible and see what you can retain. He will explain anything as many times as you want to hear. You will learn so much.

I recently graduated and took a bunch of classes with him. Best economics professor at Wheaton and one of the best I have ever had. He will help if you need it and he is very clear with his lectures. He has high standards but if you put in the work you will understand the material. He was the reason I was an economics major. Guidance for careers!

He is the best professor I have ever had!!! his speech is so clear even better than the textbook!!! He is the reason that I want to be ECON major. i like his class a lot and will take his other courses next semester!!! Not an "easy" professor, because he has high standards, but he's brilliant, prepared for class, an interesting lecturer, and treats students like colleagues. If you alreadys don't like his subject, you'll hate it by the end of the class... but if you have even the slightest bit of interest, it will be your favorite by the end!

Comment:

Professor Gildea is one of the best in the business. While I have had him only in the lecture setting, he is really good about teaching the students. If you understand and copy the notes down on the board you will not have to crack the book for an exam. In addition, he goes the extra mile to help the students. A great guy and an awesome teacher.
