Read the book or go to class, not both. All questions on the exam are covered in lecture. Make sure you know what each demonstration in class is and how it relates to that topic. The class is curved big time. I got A's on all 3 exams then bombed the final with a 15 out of 24 and still pulled out an A overall.

Boring lectures. Assignments are pretty useless because the tests are completely different. The old exams are the most helpful way to study.

His tests are not what he teaches in class. They are 10 times harder. But he curves them so much that it doesn't matter. Really boring class (even at 11am I almost fall asleep). Overall he's helpful though.

Although he just reads his powerpoints, he is willing to answer questions. His tests don't reflect his lecture at all and are way harder than any example he gives. He is very boring to listen to and you will fall asleep at least once in class guaranteed.

Didn't like him. Found him boring and made me fall asleep. He does good experiences, but wasn't the most interesting teacher

Mr. Hill was a fairly good teacher in my opinion. He teaches hard weed-out physics classes but overall I learned quite a bit in the class. He was always willing to help if anyone needed it

The professor is organized and posts powerpoints and homeworks online. The answer key to tests is posted right after exams, but the curve is not determined until a week later. Clicker use is optional, but lecture and homework problems appear again on exams.

Adorable old man :) His tests are impossibly hard and you will probably fail but it will be curved VERY heavily. I didn't really learn much but it's just a physics class for people who won't use it ever again...

He is a very good professor, he was always prepared and did a lot of good demonstrations. The exams are multiple choice which some people prefer. He also has questions about the demonstrations done in lecture on the tests so try to go to the lectures. If you go to class you don't need to read the book, you only need it for the homework.

He was always organized and his slides are easy to follow. He gives you all the solutions to the HW which is nice and overall I think the class was easy. Tests are only 18 pts and MC. The lab is kinda fun but a waste a time as well.

He does mumble and seems to confuse himself every so often. I didn't go to lecture that often and did okay. Make sure you know the basic format for the problems he does in lecture and pay attention to demonstrations.

Do not go to class unless you absolutely need the 4 extra credit points. Anything he teaches will be posted online and it isnt that much. Make sure and ask a student about any demonstrations, that will help on tests. Do hwk/few extra problems and read all sections and youre promised atleast a B.

Granted physics is not my forte, but I did not find Hill helpfull or easy to follow. I think he does care about his students. He fell off a skateboard during a class demo, broke his arm, nearly passes out twice, but continued class. I didn't like his powerpoints or his style of teaching. My TA was not helpful, and lab was a huge waste of time.

I'm sorry, but I though he was bad. He mumbled, and his powerpoints were pointless, they made no sense. Oh, and lab was a waste of time. I did fine in the class, but that was after sitting in the physics help room (which I recommend going to) for hours and hours.

Tests weren't too bad if you went to recitation...except the final, which was really difficult. Lab is pointless, but you can earn bonus points toward the class.

To say the lab is pointless is an understatment..but you have to go so get used to it. The class is really pretty easy as long as you take notes and study the old exams. Grading curve is very generous.

He's easier than the other prof from what I've heard but class is no fun. He tends to mumble. I don't like the grading system of only having 98 points and lab not counting as a credit.

Good teacher for Phys 111, he makes eaiser tests than the other Phys 111 professor. The lab is pointless, but you have to go. Just work on the problems assigned and study the old exams and you will get through the class.
