Irvine is amazing. He's been teaching from the same notes forever, so his fantastic jokes about each case are perfectly executed every time. He genuinely wants everyone to do well, and his storytelling style will help you remember small details. The hardest part of his lectures is not being lulled to sleep by his soothing presence.

Oh man. Irvine is a legend and it is deserved. It's like listening to Michael Caine tell you stories about his life. Irvine isn't a person. He's an idea. An abstract concept. He is eternal. Always and everywhere. Great prof, great class.

Irvine is, hands down, the best and most knowledgeable prof I had for first-year Law. Unlike the other profs I had in first-year, his lectures facilitate note-taking. He's very nice and has a great sense of humor. He told us the exact areas that would be covered on our exam; that was extremely helpful and much appreciated!

This is the foremost expert on torts in Canada. Having him as a prof is an honor and a treat. You would think he is boring but you will pee your pants laughing at his stories. I loved his accent. He is a tough marker but at the same time gives an A to students who get B+ on mid term and finals! Almost no readings yet you learn lots. Best of da best

The guy is Michael Caine. But instead of listening to him counsel Bruce Wayne about his life as Batman we got to listen to him tell legal stories for a full year. Only problem is his story-time literally lulls you to sleep and as he requires you to read about 5 cases in 8 months you don't know the cases as well as you would otherwise.

The irony is that Prof. Irvine if I can remember didn't like the Internet much. I had two classes with him in law school. Both were great. He is a gifted lecturer, funny and really knows what he is talking about. He was entertaining and witty and I looked forward to his classes.

Easily one of the best profs in the faculty. Made a semi-boring topic (1st year property) interesting with his story-telling approach to lecturing. Exams are extremely fair; not easy, but definitely fair. Could almost take his act on the road... I would highly recommend Prof. Irvine.

One of the best, clearly cares about his students. Plays fast and loose with the facts, but only so that you remember the cases and the principles (which are far more important). The intellect is obviously scintillating. And first year girls start to faint when they think of him. They broke the mold when they made him.

The best professor I had in Law school was Irvine. Great guy. He actually brought a course in Jurispudence to life. (Not to mention the fine wines he provided with every class, and he held this class in the staff lounge rather than a traditional classroom) Unforgetable experience and person.

Professor irvine was one of my favorite professors this year. He's funny and makes a potentially boring subject interesting. His exams ARE NOT as hard as other ratings of him would lead you to believe.
