John is something, I can tell you that. His lectures are annoying and he bashes Trump a lot. Most of the class is online and youll be doing A LOT of clicker questions during class. Hint: get the app version and watch the class love from your room unless you want to see the show that is his class live. Now lets start the polling. And 23% got it.

This class is pretty easy. Just do the work and youll be fine. A 70 in the class is still a B- so its not bad. Lots of homework and quizzes but its manageable. Hes not bad but not the best either. Do your work and youll pass

He really does seem like a nice guy, but his teaching methods are horrific. GET THE ONLINE CLICKER IF YOU DO TAKE THIS CLASS! He puts up live streams of the class and you can actually focus better in your room than in the class room. The HW Quizzes are a joke. THEY DO NOT MAKE ANY SENSE AND DO NOT GO HAND IN HAND WITH NOTES. 95% online class.

So many quizzes, and a lot of work. BUT, I recommend taking the online course. John Kane is still technically your professor, but if you don't mind teaching yourself, he virtually leaves you alone.

Worst teacher I have ever had. He uses youtube videos to teach for him, gives five quizzes every week, uses iclicker to take attendance for him and does not provide information during lectures about basic ideas or concepts. Even someone who has taken multiple economics courses does not understand the wording John Kane uses in his exams. Do not take

This man knows what he is talking about. All the other negative ratings are from people who don't want to do work. Grow up. College is tough. Kane is awesome!

Comment:
Very smart professor (he wrote the textbook for the course), but he is almost too smart to teach econometrics. Lectures can trail off topic, so the recorded lectures are helpful to go back to the important parts & the textbook is also a good tool. Heavy workload; around 12 assignments, 2 in class exams plus the final, & semester long project.

Pushes the liberal agenda. Spent the entire first day of class bashing Trump. Coursework is hard and unless you like math and economics good luck

John Kane. Great guy. Although, the quizzes are never ending. The questions are so difficult and some of them aren't even in the textbook. I don't think I've ever paid attention in class once because the class literally has 400 people in it and all he does is yap yap yap.

He is definitley a nice person, but when it comes to teaching he's not that great. his lectures are very boring and confusing. there are a certain number of online quizzes due every week, and mostly none of the answers were online. you have to read the textbook to pass each of the quizzes, and even if you read the textbook you would get very low.

A ridiculous amount of weekly work for a gen ed class. Extremely hard quizzes and he moves fast through lectures like everyone is an economics professional/major. If you take this class, be prepared to read the book and teach yourself the course. This is BY FAR the worst class I've ever taken. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE! You've been warned.

He is a bad teacher. If you don't read the book on your own time, you won't do well. Every class there are iClicker quizzes so if you don't show up, that's how he knows. I would not take with him again.
