I guess the cheese stands alone here! I really like Killigrew's class and find him extremely humorous. He's an excellent professor, he's intelligent and very helpful outside of class. His notes are well-organized and his funny stories are entertaining. It's sad that he's retiring. I can't believe so many people disparage him here! He's the best!

Easiest classes in the world if you can sit through some semi-boring lectures. If you cant get a B in his classes, it means you never show up or are too dumb and shouldnt be in college anyway. 2 papers that he outlines for you and 2 tests that he completely explains before you take them. How hard could that be?

He is older and you can't understand 99% of what he says, if he likes you, you will do well, if he does not like you, you will get a D. He thinks there is alwasy a grade inflation so starts of the class saying most of you will get a C or below. if you do

He is very old and loosing it mentally. He repeats the same stories every class. The class was not about the history of Japan, it was about the life and times of John Killigrew. His lectures are very confusing and his expectations are unclear. He grades lengthly essays with check marks and gives no comments. Its doutful that he even reads them.

for a 101 class he gives way to much work (two 10 pg papers and 2 exams) he isn't very clear in his lectures and rambles on, his "review sheets" are confusing and its unlear some of what he wants on his exam, but he does give you a quasi-list of topics, funny at times but overall not very helpful

this guy has lost it he is totally wasting students money by not teaching anything useful I wanted to beat my head into a desk through all of his boring lectures. His mini papers are 10 pages and you have 2 a semester. He only grades them with a check and i doubt he even reads them iprayheretires

i took every class john taught. he is one of the funniest people i know and his class was always fun. he is always telling stories from his trips to china and whatnot, he makes class fun

He's a really nice guy and he's funny, but he should stop teaching. He's way too obsessed with China. He rambles and doesn't make much sense. He's often very unclear and it gets to be very annoying. One thing he'll always tell you is that silk boxers enhance his libido...scary thought but funny

this man if just too old to be comprehendable. you have to strain to make out his words, and his "minipapers" are 10 pages long - he grades them with a check. all that work for a check mark. you write in his own words on the midterm and he says you aren't detailed enough. he NEEDS to retire!!!!!

Killigrew is the man. Hes the guy who rides his bike everywhere and dings at you when hes really close to scare the crap out of you. Hes hard to follow but his review sheets are what is exactly on his tests. He gives 10 page papers but they arent that bad.

mr. killigrew is a nice little old man who has CIA experience. he tells many stories and often gets off topic. he makes history fun, but can sometimes be unclear. when asked a question, he confuses us all. his "mini-papers" are 10 pages long. the final was multiple choice! take HST 101 with him!
