Comment:

Professor Klein is knowledgable and challenges his students. The problem is that he is one of the most condescending professor I have ever met. His comments often hurt me more than helped me. Some people learn well under his demeaning style, while others wonder how he is still allowed to teach.

Comment:

I dislike tests where you have to memorize dates and labels for art. He gives you this info on tests and asks you to write about the importance and meaning of the art. I pefer talking about concepta rather than memorizing facts that are easily forgotten. He clearly tells you everything you need to know, you just have to put it in your own words. I got more out of this class tha any other Art History class in my minor.

Class is really hard. Goes through slides like it's nobody's business. Expects everyone to love modern art like he does. If your concentration is in any other art time period, you might be a little screwed

Okay - This guy is just a plain, old-fashioned ****. He's knowledgeable, sure, but what does that matter if he hoards information in a way that allows him to be constantly and consistently condescending? I hear that there's now another professor teaching Modern Art. Don't put yourself through the Klein experience.

He's extremely articulate and knowledable, and even though his classes pose real challenges (i.e., *not* easy) I learn much more in his than in other classes! He's terrific--an encourages you to always take another step.
