Tests are nearly impossible to complete in time and to achieve a passing score on. However, it is the same test for everyone and he clearly has to curve grades. Very difficult, but very worth it. You will learn. Excellent professor.

I noticed undergrad students give him a lot of negative reviews. I cant speak for their material, but I'm sure if you put the effort in and make attempts outside of just showing up or reading you'll do fine. Or maybe he just likes grad students better because they don't whine about exams.

He lectures every class period but only tests on what is in the textbooks and the most random details from the unrelated articles he passes out. His take-home essay prompts are ridiculous. Don't bother going to class unless you need the handouts or some cheap laughs. His cheesy old man humor is rather charming.

Professor Kudlac is not easy to understand. He gives many notes and the says that the tests are textbook based, but nonetheless, they are still nearly impossible to pass. I would recommend anyone but him, especially if you do not have an interest in science. Despite his difficulty/lack of teaching ability, he does have a good sense of humor.

John tends to get upset when he's not addressed as "Dr", but he's a better teacher than the other Civil Professors. The key is knowing he designs his test VERY hard & so you can't finish them. So you do the best you can in the time you have. Doing the homework helps also (in 418). At least he teaches what's on the FE Exam!

I really enjoyed taking this class. I seemed to have a firm grasp of all the concepts and I didn't mind waking up every Monday and Wednesday to attend. He has an interesting variety of ties as well!
