Dr. L is an awesome teacher! We only really see him during rehearsals for pep band, but I would totally recommend the class! I love it so far, and can't wait to go to the tournament in March!

He is hilarious, but if you get offended with swearing and stereotypes, then I wouldn't take him. You just have 3 tests and 3 papers, that you do movie reviews. No final. The test is multiple choice, but you need to make sure you study. The test is only on terms, and a few people and what they did. He is really interesting, take him!!! Easy A

John is a good professor. He's pretty funny. He doesn't use Canvas which is kind of frustrating. He outlines the class very well and his tests aren't super difficult. He's got some good stories.

There are three exams. The final exam is NOT comprehensive. The exams are incredibly easy. He gives a study guide with everything that will be on the exams. Participation was mandatory. There were three pop-quiz given during the semester. You watch three movies and write a two-page paper for each one.

John is a great teacher, he likes to make light of certain situations which is great. When you are in school all the humor you can get helps! He is a nice guy, that does expect you to give respect. Do not talk. He will embarrass you. Take the night class, he is very straight forward and you will learn a lot of social problems. He knows his stuff

John Lacognata is a great guy. He wants you to believe (sorry John) that he is not LDS but he really is, he just likes to poke fun. Don't take him too seriously, he's a great teacher with great values. Helpful hint - KNOW the study guide. Class is less important but always entertaining.

I took 2 classes from John. i would recommend him. gives great review sheets for his tests. Almost all questions (multiple choice) are definitions. He jokes around a lot but knows his stuff. Doesn't let the class ramble off at tangents. I'd recommend him.

Fun class and John makes it even funner by his funny comments. Easy class and you learn alot and can actually take what you learn and apply it to everyday life. Straight forward test and multiple choice. You never want to miss class just because it's so fun.

I loved this class. John does make fun of mormons, but c'mon he makes fun of everyone.:) Study the notes he gives you and you will do fine. He gives lots of cool facts, and is willing to help students on their career path. He actually cares about Sociology and has TONS of experience! LOVED THE CLASS

I really liked John. He definately has a different sense of humor and some dry jokes, but he's a great guy. His tests are multiple choice based on vocab words from the book. His tests are fairly easy if you're good at memorizing terms. I would probably take one of his classes again. Don't get offended by his comments. Lighten up a bit :)

He is a good teacher if you dont care that he criticizes the LDS religion THE WHOLE SEMESTER. I liked how he brought diversity into the classroom with guest speakers, video clips, and overheads. He took our class out on a few field trips too. Overall his class was cool...he still kinda bugged me though :-)

He's a fun teacher, but he teaches right from the text book, which isn't my favorite. He's funny, though, and likes to show movie clips which makes class more interesting. His class isn't hard as long as you read the text. It's a good class.
