My favorite professor at UB so far! Very kind, warm and his class was actually fun! (I.E. the final is a group skit). Definitely would recommend.

This was an honors seminar class that was 1/wk from 4-7. His textbook requirements aren't excessive and only cost me about 20 dollars total for NEW books. He gives out structured notes that are well organized and easy to follow. He also loves to feed us and brings candy, donuts and soda to every class! Homeworks are very fair and no final exam

This class was too easy and even fun! We had a BBQ at John "The Man" Mansfield's house one week, and there was food in class almost every week. Highly recommended for an elective!

Probably one the best professors you'll have at UB. He's really wonderful to talk to. Took three of his Wednesday seminar classes, half lecture, half discussion groups--no exams, just a final project and assignments in between. Work load is fair, the material is awesome and he likes feeding us =) Can't beat that!

Great guy! John is a prof that actually cares about his students and gets to know us throughout the semester. He brings in doughnuts and soda every week! He knows his stuff, if you get a chance to take his class its an easy A that you actually learn something applicable to life. 5 stars!!!

Professor Mansfield is a great guy :D RSP 260 was a 3 hr, 1x/week Honors Seminar from 4-7pm, and he brought donuts and soda every single class. The class was very easy - just readings, internet assignments, and a simple final project (No Final!).

Take any and every class with John you can. He's one of the best professors at UB. He covers a lot of material, but his tests are laid out for you. (He uses strutured notes and lists his objectives) the hard part is the amount of the material. If you take his seminars though...no tests.
